  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Used 2015 Genesis 3.8 Tech pkg, or 2013 Equus Signature? What would you recommend, and why?

Both have similar mileage (about 40k miles), similar price and similar carfax/owner history.

Thank you

Unless you like to be chauffeured in the back seat, it’s a no-brainer to go with the newer car and technology. Be sure to buy a good extended warranty.

I own a Genesis but have not had any extended experience with the Equus. Thought that equus is supposed to be higher quality, better ride, trim, 5.0? Does the 2015 even with only 3.8 outweigh those?
Thanks

Rick, if you already own a Genesis, maybe you want to change it up a bit?

The Equus is more luxurious, more spacious, and does have the 5.0L V8. But it ultimately depends on your priorities.

Thanks

It is all in the perception of value to you. On the market they are about the same price as you note.

Higher quality? Sure it may have a bit better grade of seat material or carpeting but the assembly tolerances and fender material are the same. Do you often have rear seat passengers? They will be impressed with the Equus. Sure, the 5.0 is a nice engine but the 3.8 is reliable too. As for performance, the 0 to 60 times are both rated at 5.9 seconds so the more power is hauling more weight at the same speed.

Drive both and see what fits YOUR needs best. Where you park may make a difference too.

Thanks

The Equus is yesterday +. Pick your poison.
