  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys

I've been browsing these forums for the last several days. I'm looking to buy a used Hyundai Genesis 3.8 AWD. I found a dealer who is offering ~38k OTD. It is for the base model whose MSRP is ~41k and it has ~4k miles. I think it is way too high and want to offer $31k OTD but would really like some input from you guys. Thanks!

Any additional thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to an Ultimate for that price. Way too much for a base. If you don't have a trade (and even if you do), consider one long distance. You live in a cheap central area for domestic flights and a very low mileage 2015 Ultimate probably won't disappoint if you take a chance on finding one a bit far away.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Yea. I would do some searches a little further out in your area. You should be able to get much better deals. I did a quick search on cars.com and autotrader and saw a lot better deals.

i am in the midwest and seeing Ultimate AWD with 20k miles and less for on avgerage $31-$33. i just paid $33k for a AWD Ultimate with 11,000 miles a month ago. seems that you should be able to find a better deal in my opinion.

I have been in the same boat. looking for 2015 ult, awd , <20k miles in the northeast somewhere that is not white! best pricing I have been able to find is mid-$30's. selection is limited compared to other parts of the country.

If I go with a car from across the country, should I fly out and do a test drive on the car before buying it even if it is CPO? I've also heard of cars having water damage but not having it recorded on the carafax.

Also, I'm not too big on gadgets.. would I really be missing out if I picked up the base 2015 sedan instead of one with the ultimate package? What OTD price should I be negotiating for in a base model vs an ultimate one? Lets say 10-15k miles. Thanks!

p.s. I've seen a lot of these used cars in Florida. Any particular reason for that?

You'll be missing a much better sound system, upgraded seats, and while not being big on gadgets - the ones that are offered are practical (smart cruise, lane keeping, HUD, larger screen, DIS control on the armrest) more than they are gadgety. I have an Ultimate and I couldn't do less. :)

They recently had a hurricane. That being said - chances are since they are in FL - they will not have things you want like heated seats front and rear or headlight washers.

I just bought a 2015 Tech Package with 18k miles on it for $32,250.

I suspect you should be able to get a non-tech vehicle with similar miles for at the very least $1k less. I feel as though I have seen quite a few for less than $30k. But since I was shopping for a Tech or Ultimate I didn't pay much attention to those.

Good luck.

Is that price out the door?
