  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone used a battery tender instead of running their engine while upgrading the navigation system?

I feel like the bigger problem is the on timer timing out and shutting the system off in the middle of the update. Otherwise, it's very unlikely that having it in the accessory position for a couple of hours would run the battery down too much.

Yep, just take a nice hour ride, get your wife an ice cream. The radio won't work until done so you can even talk to each other.

I thought I read that someone just shut off his car and when he got in it the next day, the update was completed. I am too scared to try that so I just ran my car in the driveway for about 1/2 hour until it was done.

Oh, no! You wouldn't want to do that!
