  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey I just enabled my Alexa to start my Genesis using the Genesis and Hyundai Bluelink app. I just saw an article on it in USA Today. It was announced around mid August (Im just hearing about it). Any of yall use it before?

I set it up and tried it on my Fire TV box, it does work as advertised. It works but its not very useful from the TV, would be useful if you have an Alexa gizmo.

They have also go the same kind of thing going with the Google:

I think you can do this from your phone if you have the Genesis app installed, so you can tell your phone to start, lock, unlock your car. I can't try it now, its early and I don't want to wake the house up talking to my phone. :-)

It does work. It does not set the temperature unless you tell it to though. Both times I tried it the climate control was not on when I got in the car. Doubt I'll be using it. I find it just as easy to use the phone app and I don't have to be in the same room as the Alexa device.

Google Home will also start you car but you have to tell it your PIN in the correct format. It does not understand 0423 as Oh four two four. or zero four two four. It has to be zero four hundred twenty three.

It’s pretty annoying for me since Alexa doesn’t always recognize the command

Finally tried it. It set the temp for me.
