  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone done it? I know we've got the remote posts up in the engine...just curious if anyone has ever utilized their car to jump another. I imagine that the concept is the same as hooking it up to a vehicle with the battery in the engine compartment.

With that wimpy clip in the fuse area for the positive connection I wonder how critical it is to follow the Hot>Hot, Neg>Ground connection pattern.

Is it bad that I'm half tempted to gut the trunk and connect it back there? Haha.

Be aware that "jumping out" cars these days is not highly recommended. As the cars become more complex like ours the possibilities of component damage increases. Best to invest in a portable booster which are very popular and fairly inexpensive now. That's what I did.

I did it once from the trunk not knowing how to do it from the front.

Yeah, I’ve got a portable booster but I think the battery in my old car is completely dead. I’ve got zero indications, power or anything when I go to crank it.

That said...anyone want to buy a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6? 😂

As in all other purchases research and comparison shopping is key. I’ve had mine for a little over a year now and I’m sure things have progressed performance wise considerably. The one thing I would look for is the maximum amount of cranking amps and good customer satisfaction reports. I’m skeptical to recommend one because you could probably do better now.
