  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Guys quick question, Does any one know the torque for Lift hooks on V8 4.6?

I cant find this in the service manual (aside of the bolt number and Table torque which I don't trust), by table it states around 36Nm which seems kind of low for hoisting such a heavy engine

What's the hardware size? M8? M10? I recently pulled a Ford v10 with 4 standard m5 bolts on lift straps.

When I pulled my 5.0, I didn't have to move the oem lifting hooks.

I believe its M8, jsut supprised that the Manual states 30 NM and this thing lifts whole motor

As long as the bolt has adequate tension, it is fine. You may be mixing tightness with the bolt's shear strength.
