  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just received my wheel caps and emblems. I didn't realize til I was reading around the forum that the caps for the V8 are not the same as for the V6.

I put them on anyway so people could see what they look like. I didn't think they looked bad. Please let me know what you think. Has anyone else made this mistake?

I think they look great. I posted in here awhile back that the 18" Wing Caps worked fine on the 4.6 . Your setup is just how my dealer is doing it, and charging a premium. Your pics look good, and in person they also look good.

Looks great to me!

Well it hasn't even been a day. Got on the highway and went straight to the dealership to get touch up paint. No stops inbetween. Got to the dealership and everyone was real impressed til they got to the passengers side of the car and saw wheel cap missing.... I came straight home and am not at all happy!!

These caps are not being stolen, they are falling off. don't know what to do now...dang!!!!!:mad::mad:

Those caps are not made for those wheels. It seems that while they "fit", the don't really "fit", if you get what I mean. I would sell your remaining 3 and wait until the real V8 caps are available. If those fall off, too, well then it must be user error. ;)

Thanks for keeping us posted. No "perfect" solution seems to be available. If these wheels are limited to North America, I doubt there exists a sense of urgency in Korea to make them available.

I installed the same caps on my V-8 just like Shutterpro did. One thing I id notice is there is a tab on the bottom-side of the cap that fits a slot in the opening of the wheel. It took some good "eye-balling" but I was able to line the two up and when I installed my caps I heard a distinct snapping of the metal ring into the groove of the hole in the rim. "Knock on Wood" but I have not lost a cap and drove round trip from OKC to Ft. Walton Beach earlier this week. Just my two cents worth.!

Update on my cap situation.

I ordered another cap to replace the one lost. While I waited for cap to show up, I removed the other 3 and put on the original caps.

I noticed on the back of the cap there is that little notch and a picture of like a littel screw driver. When I reinstalled all 4 caps again, I made sure these all lined up. Knock on wood. I drove over 400 miles and all caps are still intact :D.

I would be inclined to say it was error on my part during install, not bad caps!!

Hope this helps all when intalling. MAKE SURE CAPS ARE LINED UP PROPERLY!!
