  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, folks,
Newbie here, although I've been lurking around for a while to do some research on the Genny. :D

I'm about to pull the trigger on an '09 4.6 with tech package.
The only thing about the V8 is, I much prefer the optional 18" wheels on the V6.
I'm aware the front caliper of the V8 is bigger, so I was wondering if the V6 wheels fit on the V8 without a problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Yes, the offset is the same so the 18" premium wheels fit fine on the V8.

Thanks for the info. :)
Not that I doubt you or anything, but did you actually see the V6 wheels fit on the V8?
I ask because even with the same offset, depending on the design of the spokes make a difference in clearance between the wheel & the caliper.

I used to own an '04 VW R32, which had HUGE brakes that made us owners really hard to find aftermarket wheels for the car.

Anyone else tried putting V6 wheels on the V8?

Dan

Anyone with V6 18" wheels willing to meet up and see if they fit? :D

Dan

If you're buying new, you could ask the dealership to do a test fit, and if it works have them swap the wheels for the car you buy.

The first post was before I bought the car.
I already asked the dealer, and they said they can't do that. :(

Dan: It so happens that I have a V6 Tech and like the V8 wheels better and would be willing to make a swap. Geography might be an issue though, and your profile doesn't seem to indicate what state/city you're in. I'm in Atlanta, GA metro.

From what I understand, the V6 wheels will not fit on the V8. I actually purchased from ebay a set of V6 wheels that were advertised for the V8. I called to confirm after I purchased them and low and behold they wouldn't have worked. I had to find another person on ebay to buy the V8s.
