  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Valet Service

Thanks, appreciate the advice.

I called Meguiar's today to ask what product was best to deal with car wash scratches. I told the guy I was planning to use the Scratch X 2.0, but he recommend the Ultimate Compound. That appears to be one of their more aggressive products, I certainly don't want to cause additional problems, but he said it was best for this.

Based on what I read, it works like the X product, just faster. I'll probably follow it with their Ultimate Polish, then Ultimate Wax.

Having an electric polisher makes it easy, but I have heard horror stories of folks ruining their paint with one. Just gotta be careful and consistent.

I bought my car at Hyundai of East Louisville. Part of a multi-brand locally owned dealer company. Not known for their exceptional service; their brands are Ford (not LM), Mazda, Toyota and one standalone Acura deal.

Of the 3 Genesis dealers in town, all sell and service out of the Hyundai dealership.

I'm not suer what Genesis long term vision is: trying to be a "luxury" car brand out of a cheapo-commuter car building isn't going to get you there, neither on sales, service or overall experience. I'm hoping Hyundai gets its act together following the pattern of successful luxury startups: Lexus certainly, and Acura. Though, I think dealers have their own viewpoint: which may include rejecting the price of admission of buildling a new structure, when there isn't enough sales or service volume to offset fixed costs.
