  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Guys,
I have a basic silly question. I live in CA but I guess it might be applicable to other states too. I got my plates in the mail and also got the stickers for month and year. My question is if I affix the stickers to the plates now and when I go to DMV to pickup vanity plates, do I get a new set of stickers for month/year? I guess I am confused about that so I did not put on the new plates on the car yet. Googling around did not help me!

If you want to be sure you get the correct answer, call the DMV (or whatever it is called) in your state/county.

In Texas once you pick up your vanity plates you will also get new sticker because the sticker has your license plate number on it so they have to match.
I thought that in Texas they gave up on stickers on the plate itself, and went to stickers inside the windshield, to avoid sticker theft?

They did years ago.

Also recently did away with a state inspection sticker.

Now we have one sticker for registration. We still get our cars inspected, but don't have the unsightly sticker to prove it.

Yes stickers are inside the vehicle. I was answering the OP question about getting a new sticker not where the sticker placement will be.:) Sorry for the confusion
