  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This week I purchased a 2023 G70 3.3t SP. The dealership helped me set up the Genesis Connected Services the day of purchase. After a day or two I decided to play around with the app to see what it had to offer. I noticed right away that it gave me an odometer reading of 1,042,487 miles on the car!! As if I had driven it to the moon and back a couple times in the first 2 days of owning the car...HA!. It had 106 miles on the dash odometer at the time.

So I go down to the garage and access the Connected Sevices from the car itself. I select Vehicle Diagnostics. It tells me it is "Unable to retrieve data". I would assume the cars infotainment Connected Dervices should be able to pull the data directly from the cars CPU. However, I am still able to remote start the car, lock, unlock, check fuel level etc etc from the app no problem. After I accumulated a few more miles Connected Services still shows the same 1,042,487 miles so it is not tacking on more mileage and Vehicle Diagnostics is still "unable to retrieve data".

I contacted Connected Services and got a ticket for investigation, and now have to wait a couple weeks they said for a tech to get back to me. It's a great feature I would enjoy using if they can get it sorted out, and being able to view my Vehicle Diagnostics would also be great in the future for maintenance. Anyone else had any wild glitches like this with Connected Services?

Odd. Wonder when you get the monthly vehicle report on any service needs emailed to you if the mileage will also be honked up? I’ve never really paid close attention to miles showing on the app, but when I get the email each month I pay attention to what it shows, mileage being one such thing.

Even the person at connected services seemed stumped and said she could see the mileage on her end and it was very odd. The picture below has the mileage reading at the bottom of the image. Honestly my larger concern is why I can't retrieve the data on my vehicle diagnostics on the cars display. Every time I get "Unable to retrieve data". Super frustrating. Love the car though. She is a beauty. The Siberian Ice looks better in person than I anticipated.

Not sure I’ve actually tried to look at that data onscreen in the car before? Use the phone App mostly. I’ll have to try and view diagnostics from within the car and see what happens? I know there are several onscreen items in the car I have not fully explored for once I got the car set-up I never played with some settings and features.

I sent 3 addresses to my car, and they didn't show up. And I deleted driver 2 and guest to factory new, so only driver 1 is active. Never an issue with the other 2 Hyundais with the same 5W nav infotainment. But on the Palisade Calligraphy, the miles showed up in Km. On this car, the 3 addresses sent were 'successfully' sent, so they're probably on one of the other 2 profiles, but won't look for them. Will call connected services when I get back home (on a trip now). I didn't know you could get info from the screen, so might try it, and see what I get :). The website shows all car info correctly. I unchecked all the crap, so won't get any more of the silly 'vehicle reports'.

That million mile thing is an old bug that Genesis doesn't appear to be interested in fixing. It has been like that for a entire year since we bought our '21. Contacted Genesis and got a nondescript response that made no sense. I just gave up.

If you dig into your monthly health reports, the correct mileage is there. Personally, I'm not thrilled that my car shares any info with the mfr... or anybody for that matter. I turned off the driving behavior thing, or whatever it's called. Frankly, how I drive is none of their bidnez. They prolly are still collecting all that data. I'll put up with the Big Brother shtick for the remainder of the 3yr service. After that... disconnect.

Fair enough. That's a valid point you make, and I am not a fan of intrusion either. I am interested in seeing what the cars infotainment Vehicle Diagnostics lists and has to say. Can anyone tell me what type of information is available if/when it ever works?

Prepare to be disappointed. Below is pretty much all mine ever showed. I'm sure they collect a whole lot more data but choose to treat owners like idiots and don't show us much. Personally, I'd rather hook up an OBD2 bluetooth adapter and use an OBD2 reader app like Torque Pro. I get far more info and data - live - while the car is running. You can also see the same info most State Inspection station will pull for the annual emissions test. Here in TX, at least. They do not do an actual SMOG test with a tail pipe sniffer. They hook up a reader to the OBD2 port and pull your car's Emissions readiness data.

About the only real value to the Genesis Connect service is the remote functions, like unlocking a door, if you ever lock yourself out of the car, which is actually pretty hard to do on purpose.
