  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Year
2012
Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
2012 model, 4.6 powered sedan. Camping last week and parked car near garage door in driveway. Upon return, moved car to another location to facilitate camper docking. No issues. Today, went to move vehicle and there is no response to fob commands or door handle buttons. No lights blink, no sounds, nothing. Tried the imbedded key from the fob and it wouldn't unlock the door. Highly unlikely that both fob batteries would go zero dead at the same time. Battery in car had been spot on to crank every attempt prior. How does one access the cabin of these vehicles without fob assist? Of course, the manual is in the glove box. Appreciate input!

The mechanical key will open the driver's door and the trunk with no electrical power or assist at all.

Thanks for the replies! The key did open the door but everything was dead. Jumped it from under hood connection. Battery check revealed near end of life for this mfg. in 2015 battery. We’ve owned the car for about a year now. Replaced it with a new AGM this morning & all appears well now. Again, thank you!

I am waiting for roadside assistance as I write - Our 2022 GV80 with 1,800 miles is dead 😖 The help and service we‘re NOT getting from the dealership is just as disappointing as the dead battery. I would appreciate any predictions, assumptions or experience as to what can kill the power/battery in a brand new car, specifically a GV80. This car is so overloaded with technology that runs all the time, guessing that might be an issue…?
This a is great forum to get fast and useful help and advice, so thanks in advance!
