  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Very detailed Features and Specs for the Sedan

Thank you. That's odd - I didn't see anything about a cooled seat.. But I did see a mention of heated "seats", so that's good..

I also noted Premium Leather. That sounds interesting.. Does the Azera have a premium leather option?

Under the Technology pkg, it says cooled driver's seat. Bad thing about this is that the v6 model will have leather but there won't be any v8 models out at the same time as the v6 to see what the Premium Leather feels like. Did you ask if the Azera had the premium leather to have something to compare it with?

The feature list is funny: one section says that the integrated memory system and sunroof are standard on both models, then it goes to list them as part of the Premium pkg.

Thank you. Yes, I'm curious about this premium leather - so I was curious as to whether or not the Azera had it.. High quality leather is very important to me. It's hard to come by. Most Cadillacs don't even use high quality leather..

At least we now know the mpg for the V6. 19 city /27 hwy isn't bad. I would like to see better, but for a full size sedan that is probably pretty good. Real world driving conditions will probably be closer to 15 city / 23 hwy. What the sticker says for mpg is always off.

As far as a passenger cooled seat I think too many are making it a big issue. I think it's more important that both front seats are heated.

The Govt. MPG number equation has been changed for 08' to reflect real world numbers. I have no doubt that those numbers will be achievable if not exceeded.

Using the same EPA criteria, the 2006 Azera is rated at 17 city/ 26 hwy, but I managed 31mpg from Atlanta to Cincinatti and 30mpg around town for the weekend and on the way home. I filled up in Atlanta, drove to Cinci and refueled. 31mpg. I drove around in Cinci for the weekend (not very many miles) and then drove back to Atlanta (same tank) and got 30mpg when I refueled in Atlanta. That's not bad considering you have to drive through the mountains in Tennessee and Kentucky. I almost always get 38-40mpg in my '92 Civic LX that is my daily beater. That's in Atlanta. I go 25 miles each way to work and it usually takes about 50 minutes. When my wife drove that car, che couldn't seem to get better than 34-36 mpg anytime. She still gives me the finger after I fill it up and tell her I got 40mpg on that tank. :)

Most mileage discrepancies are due to driver/driving style. Quick starts and heavy acceleration drink gas. Driving faster uses more gas. Most people don't understand the effect speed has on their mileage. Driving on the highway at a steady 75mph you will get 4mpg LESS than driving the same car 65mph on the same road. I can't remember where I read that, but it seems to hold true in my experience. Use cruise control when you can and leave enough space between you and the car in front so you don't have to hit the brakes every time they check up. That will keep you from having to scrub speed with the brakes and then use more fuel to get back up to speed.

Oh, and a few years ago when I got my first hot rod ('89 Supra Turbo, paid $1800 bux) I got 9mpg on my first tank. Heh.
