  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The manual may say the headrests cannot be removed but they can. Follow the simple instructions in my video to remove them and reinstall them should you need to for whatever reason.

Video is on a 2012 Genesis Sedan 5.0 R-Spec but this should apply to all first gens.

All you need is a few mins of time and needle nose pliers.

Thanks for the quick video but couldn't you just strap the bands on the outside and still have a neck pillow in place on the headrest?

Yes, however when I would drive on the highway with the windows down, that thing would go flying everywhere. Now it cant possibly move as its trapped between the metal posts. But this was more of a tutorial to show anyone wondering how to remove the headrests as there is nowhere that clearly shows how.

Also things like certain seat covers and other accessories require headrest removal to fit. So now you know how to do it.

If the Headrest ever "springs" then you can use this link to reset the headreset:
