  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So with IOS 26 and widgets you can add a Hulu widget to car play and it appears on the infotainment screen with an arrow to start playing but nothing plays. You CAN play the Hulu audio through car play using AirPlay, but no video. In reading the release notes it appears that video playback should be possible when the car is parked, but I cannot get any video to play. I have a vague recollection that I when I first got the car I was able to see a YouTube video on the infotainment screen but cannot figure how that happened. Has anyone gotten video on the GV60 without using heroic measures (which I know are possible)?

I'd be interested in this too. It seems like firing up Netflix is exactly what would make painful waits at charging stations more bearable. IIRC, Tesla did this for exactly that reason. ...except there seem to be enough stalls at superchargers that Tesla owners only need to watch while the charging is underway...

After reading various iOS press this week, it seems that Apple is requiring that the auto manufacturers obtain MFi certification before any videos will operate via CarPlay in iOS 26. I believe that MFi is a licensee program that requires $$ and agreements, so it remains to be seen whether Genesis will participate.

Yes. This has been my experience as well. I can get Netflix audio to play through CarPlay but not video. Apple says they've included the APIs but that they have to be enabled by the manufacturers. I haven't seen anything yet from HMA that indicates whether or not they will enable CarPlay video while parked for any of their vehicles. I'll continue to watch for any announcements from HMA about support.
