  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK - This is weird. And yes I have the current update installed.
For the past week. the voice activated Nav feature is dead.
No matter what I say, it always shows the address on the screen before saying the address is not valid.
This is true for both the saying the business name or by saying the address.
Anyone else experiencing this?

I noticed the same issue today on mine. If I type in a navigation POI, like Starbucks, it finds them no problem. If I use the voice navigation and say Starbucks, it can’t find any.

In my first weeks of ownership I failed numerous voice searches. Then I noticed that most failures occurred when I forgot to say "find" before saying an address or store name. I also would get failures saying things like two forty instead of two four zero.

The system has rough spots, and is far more clunky and inflexible than the voice assistants we are used to on our phones. But, after training myself to get used to what the car wants, I have found it quite capable.

Nope-Simply faults for every possible query - I have been using it successfully all of this time, and now dead.

I misinterpreted your question. I've never experienced your fault. I hope you get a resolution soon.

Thanks for the reply. It’s working normal now. I’m not sure what happened but for a couple days it wasn’t working like it should. Making sure you say Find, before saying the point of interest name, was a good suggestion.

Well, the voice command uses a server side engine. Probably an issue in the cloud that they fixed.

Honestly, the cloud stuff for the car is the glitchiest spot in the car imo.

works about 50% now. tested it and it worked...when my girlfriend got in the car I was demonstrating the fact that it works again....and it didn't.

Hi - curious if you have any other tips for voice control of the nav system. "Find" is a big one, as is spelling out numbers. After many attempts at "Drive to" or "Go to", it's nice to know this quirk. Would appreciate any other suggestions!

I wish that I had more useful tips, but there is very little to say.

I found it useful to carefully read the voice command section of the large navigation manual. This is not because there are many useful voice commands to learn, but because it helped me realize how many things I was saying that derailed the recognition system and prevented it from working as I expected.

As you learned from experience saying things like "Drive to" or "Go to" it is easy to say things that seem intuitively obvious that throw a wrench in the works. Knowing how limited the vocabulary helped me recognize when I was saying too much.

One command that should work is 'go to map'. I need to try that on both the SF and G70 (which I just updated), to make sure voice commands are working after the latest update.

Sounds like you never took time to read the operators manual. Mine works exceptional.

Hey, how about trying to help others with useful information, rather than your car is perfect, and you do everything perfectly? There's no need to post on every thread with that crap man. You're not helping. They're not stupid; they know other cars work fine, but need help making theirs work too. That's what forums like this are for. If you don't want to help, don't bother posting anything. Since I'm pretty sure you won't take this the right way, I'm going to ignore you, so I won't see any of your future messages, in hopes you just post to help in the future.
