  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2022 G80 Prestige. I'm having trouble with setting routes with the "find" command. It doesn't understand many of the addresses. Here's a couple of examples.

When I got the car a month ago, I tried giving it my home address, which is (this is not the real address, but similar to the form) 830 South 9th St., Dallas, Tx. It gives me responses all over the place. Tried various ways of saying it. I finally was able to get it in by saying, "eight hundred thirty south ninth street Dallas comma Texas". Another one I had trouble with was, Aldi's Grocery store, Dallas, Tx. Man, that gave me all kinds of addresses. Tried misprounouncing Aldi. It is a name, and (probably) German, at that. It's supposedly pronounced like All-dee's. I tried Al-dee's, and several other things. I tried spellin Aldi's - "A L D I". Nope. Finally I said "Quote A L D I Quote Dallas Texas" and that worked. Note that Google Assistant on my phone has no trouble understanding either of these addresses. It understands All-dee's, Al-dee's, and even A-L-D-I.

So what's up with that on the infotainment system? Is there a way to improve that?

In general, it sucks. I get the right answer about 70% of the time at best.

As for your home address, I have that programed into the navigation. I just say "go home" and it pops up.

I don't know if this will work in a Genesis, but in our BMW I can say "show nearest Aldi" (or nearest Aldi store) and a list of them comes up with the distances etc. You then just select the one you want and the destination is set. It might be worth a try.
