  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I hope this is the right section for this question.

Does anyone know if the DRL's and highbeams on the 2012 - 14 Genesis sedan operate at diff voltages? If so, what are the voltages?

Thanks.

Hi

I just purchased a 2012 Genny. The voltage is the same as HI-BEAM but it is cut in half when it is running in DRL mode. They have replacement LED BULBS available for our application. Search this forum as many have done so far.

LED Bulbs basically suck as high beams.. I have seen where other forum members did this and were not happy.

I am asking about voltages because LED Headlights require 4V without fluctuation to operate. LED Headlights put out much more light and may be a viable replacement for those of us that dislike our "yellowish" DRL's and high beams.

Well, if your going to replace the entire headline assembly for these "LED Headlights" then just change the wiring to whatever you need.

If you have HID low beams, you can install LED DRL's and forget about having hi beams.

LOL :) . A regular halogen bulb requires 12Volts and about 55 watts. The LED Headlights im looking at only require 4 volts constantly. LED's require a lot less pwr than the bulbs in your car now. With a resistor, the 12V will be knocked down to what is needed by the LED's. No need to change the headlight assembly or any wiring..

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

No thanks. Thats a lot more work than i want to do.

Here is a link to some similar bulbs. (In case anyone is interested) Check the info in the 4th picture for a little comparison info.

The ones im looking at are 9000LM. "5th Generation Powerful 9000lm made with Philips led source leds. Light beam can be adjusted for focus length to adapt for different cars"

Here is a video on the 9000LM lights.
