Wait for the 2016 refresh?

If it means waiting another 4 months or so I wonder if it would make sense to wait for a 2016 Ultimate V6? Hoping the refresh will add a fog lights or fog lights option, get non-thumping tires on the car, heating steering wheel, etc. I do not know why it should bug me about not having fog lights except my 2001 Avalon came with it, and so did my 2005 Maxima and I find them very useful. I consider them nice cars, but not in the league with the Genesis. My Maxima also came with heated seats AND steering wheel.

For me, I am thinking that when the 2016 model comes in and it has a standard fog light, I am hoping that all the wirings will also be available and compatible with the 2015, thus I can just order them then and upgrade my car with these missing parts.But if I cannot wait now, I will choose the 5.0. Besides, I don't know if the fog lamp will be available to the 2016. Just my HO.

The 2016 refresh cannot be announced too soon.
Digesting the remaining stock of G2s is crucial.
That done 2015 pricing promotions may start creating more sales volumes.
Only after that suceeds it will make room for a new announcement.
Just my 2 cents.

New cars usually hit the lots in Sept and Oct. The new '15 Genesis was an exception since it was a brand new species. 😀

Yes, the 2015 was first available for sale in April-2014.

PMCErnie is correct. Brand new models are released as soon as they are ready. But subsequent model year releases are typically in late summer or fall, especially if there are very few changes.

They don't necessarily mean refresh as in design changes, such as new taillights, etc. But maybe minor changes that are rumored such as including fog lamps in non-AWD models (depending on trim level). So they are just asking when the 2016's are coming out.

A "refresh" in model year two is not going to happen. Usually on most cars a minor refresh could be made about halfway through a seven year model run. Year two could bring minor tweaks and corrections on first years bugs and minor misses. Some have been suggested here in another thread, many of which are software tweaks or the inclusion of features not currently available in the U.S. The recent success in the automotive press likely makes major changes improbable - in general, the car has had a pretty good freshman year so far. Then again, there is those missing LED DRL's....
