  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wake Up Hyundai, You're Losing Customers

If you live in Florida, you really appreciate cooled seats. Especially when they work well. I don't think the passenger cooled seat is a BIG deal - but it's very silly to have not included it in the package. It's there in the Korea models. Why was it cut out of the U.S. models? In any other automobile with the option available - you either have cooled seat"s" or you don't...

What? It is already in the seats in Korea? Is Hyundai kidding us? What is going on?

Okay that's it Hyundai, no more lunches at Hooters.

What was their discussion like?

Genesis Project Manager: Guys we need to pull the engineers off the adaptive cruise control. We have to figure out how to take the cooling system out of the passenger seat for the North American market. I have to go now. I'm on Wheel of Fortune tonight. I will check with you in the morning.

Pat Sayjak: Would you like to buy a vowel?
Genesis Project Manager: Yes Pat, I would.
Pat Sayjak: Okay, which one.
Genesis Project Manager: Eight.

Pat Sayjak: WHAT??? Sorry... Ahhh ... that's a number. We need a vowel.
Genesis Project Manager: Right. I knew that. Sorry, just under a lot of pressure at work. We have to take the cooling system out of the passenger seat, that works great now. Tight schedule might not be able to do it before we launch. Might have to use the passenger seat that has both heating and cooling for the first 1000 cars or so then issue those owners a mandatory downgrade later. Just stressed out! Sorry.
Pat Sayjak: Wow that is intense. Glad I'm not you. Okay now that you have had a chance to calm down, let's get back to the game. Which vowel do you want?
Genesis Project Manager: Five

I mean who is making these decisions? The Hyundai Director of North American Culture, Homer J. Simpson.

What's next? A free BEER hat with every Genesis?

Genesis Book is Finished, It's on to Exodus

Hi Hyundai Genesis folks,

Well, now that my dad finally bought the Buick, I thought his Genesis obsession was finished. And then he told me he was going to post a message onto this Forum.

He really did love the Genesis which he test drove. I know he wanted it far more than the Lucerne.

As I may have mentioned months ago, I lived in Europe for 20 years. Generally, there is no US style dickering on price. Which I actually prefer. I think the rustproofing and Lojack add-ons were deplorable.

My Dad mentioned that he is a retired cop. Well, he is actually a retired Baltimore City police major, as well as having run 911 in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Montgomery County, Chaired the MD State 911 board for a thousand years, ...

All of the dealers know that my Dad is an ex-cop. And they know that there is zero chance anyone would heist his car. And if someone was fool enough to do it, well, let's just say that the fraternal allegiance of cops, active and retired, is very strong. Probably more powerful than Lojack.

I would like to thank all of you for helping my dad make it through this long period of Genesis obsession.

Good Night and, given the holiday we just celebrated, God Bless America

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Local dealer today states that dealer sales training for Genesis is slated to begin on July 22nd. He spent the majority of the call however singing the praises of the new Mazda 6 and does not understand why anybody would really be interested in a Genesis after test driving and seeing the new Mazda 6.
Obviuosly this is a combo Mazda/Hyundai dealer but you have got to be kidding me. Hyundai seems to really be blowing this big time when its sales force is recommending other cars.

WOW, recommending a competitor. Must be more commission.

The skill to sell a $9,000 Accent is just unable to sell the $50K Genesis.

It definitely needs to be premium branded.

Good thing the Genesis isn't $50k. ;) In fact, I would bet most Genesis sales will occur in the $35-38k range.

You are probably right.

I was talking (dreaming) of the day that Hyundai gets the Genesis act together with all the packages and all the promised pieces.

That will probably never happen. :D

Hyundai is going to learn a lot of lessons with the Genesis.. This is a learning experience for them. If they fail, they will not give up. They will just come back even better next time... Give them time... There may be some things they just need to learn on their own...

I think I know which dealer you've called. Liberty Mazda/Hyundai right? I called them this morning as well, and they told me that they are expecting the first shipment as well, and told me it's anyday now. Their number was actually different. I called one number, and they told me to call another number for a Hyundai, which I did.

Ring, Ring, Ring-I look at caller ID and see Plaza Auto Mall-my heart starts to race- the car I have been waiting 2 years for has finally arrived. My palms are now sweaty, the apprehension is really starting to build... "Hello"

"This is the Plaza Auto Mall calling just to let you know the new Genesis that we spoke about still has not arrived. But we promised to keep you informed and I want to assure you that I'll let you know as soon as the truck pulls into the parking lot. If it doesn't get in this week I'll call you next week with the lastest information".

Gentleman, that is customer service. Obviously Plaza Auto Mall will get the first shot at selling me the Genesis once it hits the great state of New Jersey. A simple call and attention to detail. The sales lady even had a smile on her voice! There is hope in the Garden State!!!

Yeah, hopefully, the dealers in New Jersey does not price 'UP' by playing that mark up games and add the ridiculous thing called 'Market Adjustment' garbage. Well, you never know, New Jersey might be different(It is still among the few states with the lowest gas prices in the country), since I think NJ is among few of the last states to get the shipments in, since they still don't have any in.
