  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Finally had some time to stop by my local locksmith to get my new wallet key cut. She started to look at it and noticed that the blank key that came with the wallet key is wider on the cut surface and tinner that the factory key. I will try to post a picture later.

My question to you guys with the wallet key. Did you had any issues with the blank getting cut ?

Most of us didn't get the key cut due to sizing issues. IIRC, there was one person who found a local locksmith near Buffalo to get it cut correctly, but afaik, that person was the only one.

OK, thanks for the info. Well I think I might get a hide a key box and hide one of the original key without the fob somewhere.

Have a look at this post. You're only a couple (okay maybe a few) hours drive from Buffalo so it might be worth it (unfortunately you'll have to suffer through the New York Thruway, where not only are the tolls high but the law enforcement quotient is too).

Man, I drove by that area last month to on my way to Canada. I wish I would of gotten the key sooner. Maybe I will get lucky and I would need to travel to our Toronto office again. Good to know that only one side is needed. I might be able to talk to my local locksmith about it and she might be able to shim her machine too.
