  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

WANT SUGGESTIONS for TIRES

The Dunlops are truly terrible tires. Bad in the snow, and very rough riding. Last time I looked at the reviews on TireRack, I think they ranked next to last. Why Hyundai put these terrible tires on such a great car is beyond me.

Thank God I finally wised up and replaced them with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. The Contis are great in the snow and give the Genesisi a much smoother, softer ride.

Apparently the Michelin Super Sport can now be had in the 235/50-18 size. They place #1 in ratings from Consumer Reports for summer tires...BUT the owne'rs reviews are full of complaints about noise. A noisy tire is a bust for me. I live in the southwest so I will look in to buying a set of summer tires when the tires on my 2012 wear out. I know the Bridgestone Serenty is a touring, A/S tire but I like the thought of a quite, smooth tire.

I don't hear anybody saying they will buy the Michelin low resistance Mile Saver or whatever they are called. They come with 2012 V6s with the Premium package.

I like the highway fuel economy with these tires and will likely buy them to replace the originals. Does anybody have any comments on these Michelins? Can I get 40,000-50,000 miles on a set?

LA Genesis I find that the Energy Saver rides smooth and has good in line handling and traction. They don't turn well (maybe no non "high performance" tire does) BUT...BUT they are a bit noisy! Don't you find them noisy also? They aren't as noisy as the Dunlaps were on my 2010 but they are noisy.

Hey if you use the www.tirerack tire decision guide with our 2012 3.8 techs and select "comfort" as your #1 priority the recommended tire is the Michelin Energy Saver A/S radials that come with the car...maybe we have the "best" tire available already installed on the car.

For all the of you who post YouTube burn-outs with your R SPECS, we have some used Dunlops for you!

The Michelin A/S Energy Savers have some noise but not a lot. The ride, comfort, and fuel economy are the big selling points to me provided they last a good while.

Anyone have any experience with these tires Primewell PZ900? They look like they have an aggressive tread design but i have no hands on with them.

I'll need to replace the oem tires and am looking for more grip - don't care too much about road noise- I want grip cornering and straight line accel and brake
any suggestions would be warmly welcomed

Hello, at 1600 miles, I rid myself of the lousy Dunlops and after a great deal of research Tire rack for info and as a benchmark.
I went with Continental DWS a set of 4 just under a Thousand.

Almost immediately I noticed the steering was smother and easier, less resistance. The ride was also smooth and much softer, now takes the bumps well.
Great on the road, very good in rain no real snow to test, but I am impressed.

Please understand I have been driving for 50 years, both pleasure cars and trucks and have driven over a million miles, I am a nut for the best tires I can get, my family deserves the best (foot wear) I can Get.

Use TireRack, very informative.

I replaced the Dunlops at 25,000 miles with Michelin Pilot HX MXM4's. So far I am pleased with them. It seems a good compromise between comfort and handling. 50,000 mile warranty.
