  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought my 2013 CPO 3.8 Genesis in 2017 with 36k on the clock. Been a great car and still is and never had a mintues trouble out of it and plan on keeping it for a lot more miles. In only a short time it will be hitting 100K and out of warranty. Not that I want to spend the money but I thinking I might extend my warranty for another 60K or so. I hate thinking some high dollar part goes bad and cost me 4 or 5 grand.

It all depends on what you're willing to gamble on. There aren't a lot of parts available aftermarket. If something goes out you're stuck with going to the dealer for the parts (higher cost) or searching one of the online junkyard listings. Don't put much faith in the mileage they quote on the parts, I've heard they report lower mileage due to either competition with other junkyards or to increase sales through fraudulent numbers. Things like the struts aren't available on the aftermarket so you either choose one of the aformentioned options or you switch to coilovers, of which there's not many options.

Like I said in the first post my CPO 100K warranty will expire in only about 4000 miles plus the extended wrap warranty will also end at this time because of the mileage not months. Just got off the phone with this company and they said this warranty could not be extended past 100k that I would need to check with a Hyundai dealer to see what type of plans they offered to get the car covered for more miles. The wrap warranty I bought with the car was $1500 if I remember. What company's has anybody else here dealt with as far as warranty's. Its a great car and plan on keeping it just feel a little uncomfortable not having any type warranty what so ever.

I say best bet is to take the $1500+ you think you want to invest for warranty plan and put it in the bank and use for repairs IF needed.

Or trade car in and find a newer "lightly used" model. :)
