  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a week to decide this.

I bought a 2010 Gen Coupe GTv6, and it has 15,000 miles on it.
Still has the basic warranty, and the 10 years warranty on it.

They offered me the "real" bumper to bumper warranty for 5 yrs / 60K from today's date at the cost of $952.00

Should I, or not?

Based on some recent posts here, be sure to read the fine print of the "real" bumper to bumper warranty that you are being offered. Make note of the exclusions...it seems that bumper-to-bumper is a poorly used term in the case of extended warranties.

buyer beware...

Yeah,, i know!

But here is what the rep told me.

With the paid warranty, ANYTHING is covered REGARDLESS of why it happened. Like if i accidentally spilled water on NAVI system, and the touch screen doesn't work anymore, it is covered.

But of course this is what they "Say", and so i dOnt kno who, and what to trust.

The rep can tell you anything he wants to get you to buy...

...the document you sign tells you what you actually get....

Most contracts even have verbiage to cover themselves against the misrepresentations by their salesman...

Good Luck!

I purchased the Hyundai Protection Plan (HPP) for my 2011 4.6 with tech. with 10 year/100k mileage, including rim replacement and tire road hazard for $1,200.

I live in Florida where the attorney general regulates extended warranty pricing. So I called several dealers in Georgia and Alabama.

Very easy to get competitive pricing on HPP.

I recently had a tire issue that could not be repaired. The Goodyear store called the HPP toll-free number and I got a brand new tire without pro-ration. The plan pays up to $200.00 per occurrence.

HPP is worth it. But get the 10 year/100k no deductible plan.

That sounds good!!

How much did you pay for the 10 / 100k plan?

and what's the main differences between the 10 /100k warranty that every hyundai comes with, and the exteded 10 / 100k plan?

$1,250.

The warranty that comes with every car is only for the drive train. My extended warranty is a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Not true. Everything is NOT warranteed. Take a look at the extended warranty brochure, only certain items in each of the four categories are covered. Also, the Platinum plan shows an "Exclusion" list of items. . . two of which are the Lane Departure Warning System, and the Smart Cruise Control. Those are IMPORTANT items NOT to include. They are for your Safety and your Life.

Some of what Ive read is when a Florida resident buys a extended Warranty out of state it will not cover the car in Florida--- also Ive read a out of state dealer will not sell me a Warranty.
