Warranty running out in February what should I do?

Guys my OEM warranty ends in 2 weeks. I was going to take the car to a dealer and have them give it a look-over. Everything seems to be working on the car. Is there anything specifically I should check? Car is a 2009 3.8 with 35K miles.

Since this car is brand new to you, be sure to find out whether all the necessary TSB notices issued over the past 5 years have been performed. Better get up close and personal with a good dealer.

Thanks. Will do. But aren't those covered whether in or out of warranty? I bought the car certified from a hyundai dealer so I have that 10/100 drivetrain but the factory 5/60 runs out first week of next month.

You could look into purchasing an extended warranty, but given the age of the car and the existing mileage the coverage you can get might not be worth the cost. Wouldn't hurt to check, though - one good source is Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta.

Car dealers of all brands are infamous for ignoring such updates, especially for used cars. If you want to be proactive about your maintenance you'll need to pay attention to such things sooner, rather than later.

You can call any Hyundai dealer and give them your VIN and they can tell you if there are any outstanding TSB's or recalls. There are some very recent recalls on that model year.

You're right that TSBs and recalls have nothing to do with the warranty. Best of luck.
