I was at my dealer today for a scheduled service, the last complimentary service. An employee corrected my assumption how my 5 year bumper-bumper service is for five years. It is for five model years, he says. That is, for my 2019 it includes service 2019-2023, those five calendar years. Thus for my vehicle which I purchased July 2019 I have 18 months not 24 months of that full warranty remaining. I did not make a discussion about this with him. It is clear that the 3 year free service is date of sale forward three years and the three year free online access is three years from date of sale but the bunper-bumper warranty is for the five model years from Jan. 1 2019-31 Dec 2023, according to him and for my car. Has anyone encountered this thinking (and counting)?
It was so strange a concept that I could not counter his comment with rational thought.
