  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I've noticed ever since I bought the car that it literally goes through washer fluid like no ones business. Almost 2 bottles everytime. I use the washers maybe twice a week and I'm refilling at least every 2 weeks.. doesnt seem normal to me but it's been doing it since I've driven it off the showroom floor.. anyone else experience this?

I have had my 2G for 2015 for a couple of weeks and was actually wondering the same thing... I think the volume thats comes out when you activate the jets may be more than my first gen Genesis. Granted I have been driving in north country winters so I have been using them more than usual. Will be in a better position to assess in the spring/summer.

Mine seems to guzzle it.... I go about a month or so between refills.

Bought my 2016 Ultimate in that year and haven’t had to refill it yet! Admittedly don’t need to use it all that often but and it Sprays just fine.

I haven't had the problem but would like to ask, How do you check the washer fluid? I just fill it at at oil changes.

I'm beginning to think there is a leak somewhere, no way I can be going through almost 2 gallons of washer fluid in 2 weeks. I literally use it maybe 4 or 5 times.

On the info screen between the gauges it will pop up a caution symbol and tell you the washer fluid level is low.

Sounds like a leak to me. I'm not one to use the washers a ton, but I live in the northeast, and despite not much actual snow, the roads still get regularly salted and I only ever get mine refilled when I take it in for oil changes. The wiper fluid does also shoot at the headlights too, but it's just a short extra squirt and not a big drain.

Same here. It always lasts from one oil change to another. I only had to refill it once or twice within my 1.5 year ownership. I live in Illinois and spend most time on the hwy.

I refill twice in the winter usually..... never the rest of the year. In the winter, I get the salt and dirt and if I wipe, it just smears so I need to spray every 10-15 mins. I never use it in the summer unless it's bugs or cyclists.

Yeah I guess I may have a leak. It's done this since I bought it brand new. Good thing I have the 100,000 mile wrap around.. should cover it, I hope.

Powertrain warranty will not cover it. You might be able to fix it yourself. I am not sure how bad the access to the pump is. I was battling the same problem in my 1996 Audi A6 and turned out that the pump was not sitting properly in the tank. I had to push it more inside the tank and that solved the problem forever.

Well I do have the extra 100,000 mile wrap around warranty. Not sure if it covers it though.

It's got to be a leak. I've had my G80 (I'm sure it's the same tank system) for three months and use it 3-4 times a week, and I've never filled it.

Edit: added "for three months"

Must be a leak. Check for blue stains underneath.
