  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone else had any water leaks around the B pillar? I just found out I have one. Somehow. Below the red lines

Did you ever get this resolved? I have a water leak on the driver's side (G90) that leaves standing water in the rear foot well and have been getting horrible service.

They said that the drain holes in the sunroof channels were plugged. Also stated that this isn't normally covered by warranty and that it is the owners responsibility to clear them however there is no way an owner can do it because of where the drainage holes are located. I did not have to pay for the clearing.

I believe this is what happened to me this morning. Last night it rained all night. When I got in the car this morning, I noticed drops of water on and in my cup holder area and the whole mesh part across the inside where the mirror is was wet. There was actually about 1/4" of water in the cup holder. I thought the water was coming through the windshield area. I drove straight to the dealer ship (lucky it's only 15 mins away) and they said it's most likely the sunroof "tubes" that supposed to channel water through. I don't know for sure where the leak is coming from yet but they told me the diagnostic and replacement parts will take about 3 weeks. I got a loaner and my car is still under warranty so I don't have to pay for the repairs.

This happens to me too. After heavy rain a pool of water appears in the cup holder. And I’m talking like a half-inch of standing water. I have yet to witness the leak in action because both times it’s happened were when I had driven the vehicle for a week. I don’t have covered parking so it sits outside. I don’t see any dried water witness marks in the headliner or anything so I’m still confused about the true source.

To give an update on my water leak. It was the sunroof mount or bracket that was faulty. They had the car for one month (gave me a loaner). They took the headliner off and did a water test and saw it leaking down the B pillar. They ordered then replaced the part and tested again. No more leaks. This is the second one in the past year for this dealer that had a faulty mount and I don't know the model year of the other car.

FYI there's a TSB and a new sunroof drain plug design. I had been cleaning the sunroof drains manually but it was still getting clogged during heavy rainfall. The dealer was able to perform the replacement for my gv70 under warranty during my most recent oil change. It did take a few hours between the ECM update and this sunroof drain replacement.
