If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Equus Ultimate - SOLD
Has anyone with a 2014 model year tried installing weathertech mats in their Equus? Weathertech makes the custom fit mats for the 2011-2013 model year online, but nothing yet shows for 2014? I contacted weathertech and they said I could take a chance and buy the 2011-2013 model, but their engineers have yet to test fitment in a 2014 model. Just curious of anyone out there has yet tried to fit them in the 2014 model? The winter weather is just so bad here and I hate soiling the factory mats.

Hyundai makes a nice all-weather mat. Did you check them out at the dealer?

Yes. I installed a full set in my 2014 Ultimate and they fit fine. The drivers mat is the only one that is slightly different with one of the mounting holes being off but it is no problem, it still fits snug.

On a related note, I half regret my decision. As you know they are pure plastic with no drying effect at all and there is always melted snow on them, which translates to continuously and extremely annoying foggy windows. Also, they are impossible to keep clean. Shortly after an interior wash, they quickly show ugly salt stains and water marks.

Think I would have been better off getting another set of Equus carpets.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

So what is the part number for the all weather mats from Hyundai?

Are they for the 2014 model?

It would not appear the mounting holes are different from the 2011-2013 based on the feedback here, so I want a exact fit.

I called my local dealer last night and they were clueless?

Thanks again!

"Clueless" is not helpful to us. What did the dealer's parts dept. tell you.

In other words…they stated that a OEM all-weather mat does not exist from Hyundai for the Equus. Would appreciate knowing if someone else has dealt with another parts department. There are only 2 around me here, so my points of reference are limited.

Guess they don't make them for Equus. They make a nice set for the Genesis, though. Not as kitchen drainboard looking as the Weathertech mats.

I got some WeatherTech mats front and back for my 2012 Genesis sedan and they are pretty good for what they do. Yes they stay dirty and stained even after you scrub them down. I suppose they protect the carpet, but its like putting that plastic wrap on a nice couch.... ya know like at Grandmas :)

Update...I ended up purchasing a set of WeatherTech Premium All-Vehicle Trim-to-fit Mats. They fit well for the car, a little small on the width, but the do the job and are cheap at $50. Need trimmed a little for the driver side, but again...not to shabby for the price and unlike many mats out there are very low on the VOCs (i.e. little to no horrible rubber odor).

In my Honda Accord (traded in for the Genesis) I had the Laser FLoor Liners.. and they were great.

On top of them, I placed the "regular" floor mats...added some Velcro backings... on top of the floor liners to keep them in place. They stayed right where I wanted them.

Cleaning them was real easy... pull out at car wash...vaccum the floor mats, hit the weather tech with the pressure washer and treat with 303 aerospace...place back in car... put floor mats back in.

The liners looked practically new (and in the winter... they looked terrible with the salt etc.. but my carpets were PERFECT)... pulled them out and sold on-line to an Accord forum member... turned the car mats in with the trade.

Did I say the carpest looket PERFECT... which is the point of the liners and floor mats isnt it... to protect the carpets?
