well, as it stands after the most recent week it spent at rr hyundai, it was the battery all along, and as such they replaced it as a warranty repair. the dept head insists he cannot feel the vibration when the ac is on in fact couched his response in a way that a reasonable person would interpret as "you should be happy its only THAT bad" so ive given up on that, which is of course what they are always working toward. These people could literally be actively stabbed and insist they just aren't feeling the pointy thing you are screaming about.
To add insult to injury they deeeeefuckingstroyed the finish on all the piano black door trim, all six pieces, literally looked as if they used a green scrubby on them. I guess it was my fault for allowing them to wash it, something I never do on any of my cars. I guess I am so exhausted by the whole process I wasn't making good choices. But hey, i still have marks and stains they made to clean as well. Yes the dept head offered to get new panels and fix it, but i refused. I don't want these people any more access to the car to allow them even more opportunities to damage it further. I can fix the damage, but it is time consuming, and bottom line I shouldn't have to.
I really don't want to have to deal with these people at all, ever again, anymore, ever. I have been absolutely turned off the brand. Absolutely turned off the dealership. I just want the car to function consistently long enough so that I can sell it. 2.5yrs old, barely 14k miles, and once I fix all the crap that rr hyundai did to it, in truly perfect condition, hopefully i can get a decent price. Ill just go back to my volvo full time and drop the proceeds from the sale into a money mkt until the diesel JKLs are available, I don't know. All I know is I'm so tired. So tired.
if they are your only option for warranty work, i feel for you, I do, because these people don't give a fuuuuuck and are wholly unconcerned by the fact that you are well aware of it.
its really too bad, I loved this car, it does so much better than so many cars out there at a price point that cannot be matched. Maybe this was for the best in a way, by mid 2019 I will have moved and the closest hyundai dealer will be almost 3hrs away, over the mountains, in denver. There IS however, a jeep dealer down the hill, and since I do plan to get a JKL, that seems it will work out well.
