  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Driving and I heard something hitting against the roof, pulled over and seen the rubber hanging, now I have the roof noise like most and I would think this piece maybe had something to do with it,
my first visit to the dealer I was told the sounds are coming from the rear window shade and it's not they could do , now with this rubber falling off I'm convinced the sound is coming from the sunroof

Any advice on how to approach this

Return to dealer and have them fix it. Leave it in the condition you found it.

Have same issue mine came out in a brushless carwash just a broken piece of rubber used for sound dampening I believe

Where is the rubber originating from? Seems like the seams along the length of the car roof?

Yes it runs the length of the roof I had mine replaced hopefully this one stays put.

Makes one wonder how it came out in the first place? I don't see any of this rubber gasket visible on my roof - this area along the sides of the roof is covered by hard plastic trim pieces.

I am looking at your picture and would like to know if your front door was fully closed, if it was you might want to take the car in and have the front door striker adjusted in, this will bring the door and the molding into alignment with the rear door when closed. I am seeing IMO to much of a gap between the front door and rear door and rear door molding, it is a wonder if you are not getting some wind noise with that gap. If the front door was not fully closed in this picture than you are ok.
In the picture the edge of the front door and molding does not appear to be flush with the edge of the rear door and molding. If the front door was not fully closed than that explains everything.
