  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well with CT getting its worst winter ever, I was very upset with the performance of the stock Dunlop tires on snow. I've driven a rear wheel car all my life and never had the same problems. So yesterday I got 4 Bridgestone Blizzaks and with the snow we are getting today, no problem. I actually had to "hit the gas" to make them spin and the stopping was great. I had done the same thing with my Mustang GT and I would recommend Blizzaks for anybody.

Now this also solves my problem of the Hyundai symbols on the wheels. I've mounted the snows on the OEM wheels and look forward to getting some custom wheels for the Dunlops to put on in the Spring. What I like so far are Maxxim Allegro's. After seeing them, they have the features that I'm looking for. Not expensive, not too showy and a 5 spoke. I will probably also go with getting the TPMS installed.

Where did you get the Blizzaks? They were OOS online when i looked for them a week ago. I am also in CT
When I was shopping for Blizzaks last summer they were also OOS online in my size - my local Firestone dealer managed to find a set for me in Arizona, of all places (I'm in Maryland). I think it cost about $40 to ship them here.

I love the snows did you get WS or LM series?

And I have to ask.... Are you happy enough with the Dunlops to remount them in the spring for summer?

I only ask because I couldn't stand how bad they were. I realize tires are not cheap, and "throwing away" a set seems like a crime but this was the first tire I did it to... They lasted the first summer. I couldn't put them back on the next spring...

I got them at Town Fair Tire and they were the only snows they had in stock.

I went with what I could get which was the LM series and as I said, I've been very happy with there performance so far.

Regarding the Dunlops, I don't want to just throw them away or get peanuts for them, so that's what I will use. Do I think they are great performance tires, no. But my performance car is my Mustang GT.
