  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My son has a ‘13 R Spec sedan and wants to install more speakers. Looking in the back seat area. Anyone know what’s under the elevated section of the rear floorboard coming out from the center console? I have looked all over for diagrams with no luck. It sounds hollow.

I'm assuming you are talking about the transmission tunnel since it is a RWD car. So that would be the driveshaft.
He can remove it for more speakers if he wants but the car won't get far.

agreed, the transmission, the driveshaft. and directly under the rear seat is likely the fuel tank:

Use the rear trunk area where the spare tire is. Fake floor subbox.

Rear deck or trunk mount is the way to go.

I would sound-deaden the spare tire depression and the trunk lid (and make sure you put a little behind the license plate to keep that from vibrating as well...) if you choose the fake floor. I'm about to replace the OEM sub with a better one on the rear deck.
