  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As I expected, these ivory seats are quickly picking up the blue from my jeans, which I can live with, but there was a bit of the black dirty shop hands smudging on the armrest when I got the car and I'm dying to see if I can get them cleaner.

I'm concerned about gunking up all the perforations in the seats if I used anything like the old leather food creams we used to use back when I was a kid (and I kind of suspect these modern leather surfaces are more sealed where there's no point to trying to get them to absorb something, anyway).

Bonus question: what are y'all using on the rubberized door panel surfaces (the hand wells you use to close the doors have the same shop smudges)? I'm terrified that coating will go sticky someday, like most "soft-touch" plastics seem to after about a decade.

I use their products on my counters and floors! Didn't realize they were into this market, too, but that's a brand I trust.

Really appreciate the recommendation -- I just had this paralyzing mental image of poking cleaner residue out of the perforations one by one with a toothpick if I chose the wrong product, lol.

I would recommend cleaning the areas first with a little warm soap and water. If things are really dirty, I use a little dawn dish soap and warm water to clean the area, then dry it, then do the leather or surface treatment.

Dawn is one of the best cleaners around for just about anything... - Try putting a 1/4 cup in your wash for microfibre towels :)
