If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. What are your local dealerships doing to promote the Hyundai Genesis on their lot?

I ride by the Napleton's dealership on Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach Florida every day. NOTHING. You wouldn't have ANY idea that Hyundai had a new car. I don't see the Genesis outside at all. No signs.. Just nothing..

What is your dealership doing?

My dealer sucks, they ain't doing anything. They just have 3 barebone Genesis' sitting next to the Azera. They're only showing off the Sonata because that's their hottest seller.

Re: What are you local dealerships doing to promote the Hyundai Genesis on their lot?

The dealer I took my test drive at has to be the worst, in terms of marketing the Genesis on their lot. They're in a large 'automall' with a bunch of other car dealers, and the dealer next to them closed down (I think it was under the same ownership). So rather than have the Genesis on their main lot, where the sales people actually are, they've got them on the vacant lot next door! You can pull up and take a look, but unless you know to walk next door to talk to someone about the car you're just S.O.L.

With that kind of logic, I can see why one dealership they own has already gone out of business.

The dealer here has them parked at the entrance but hasn't mentioned them in any newspaper ads yet.

Nothing in metro Philly - except for Piazza.

None of the others even have the Genesis as a choice on their inventory search.

My dealership has a "special" lease for a bare bones genesis, but it is still sitting there for a few weeks now.

Their marketing tool... ME! they gave me a Premium Plus model for the price of the bare bones one, took my truck in on trade at a loss to them, and gave me a better lease than their "specal" advertised model. They gave me a stack of business cards and said tell everyone you know...

I dont know about your dealers, but I am recommending Keyes Hyundai in Van Nuys, CA to EVERYONE I talk to.

Well actually, Hyundai did its job with the Genesis test drive event and the commercials. The dealers is a different story. No new cars at the dealer get special attention.

Ours has two Hyundais in the middle of the mall, one is a Genesis. Has a cardboard "sign up to test drive" advert as well. Funny however that the dealership itself has no note of the Genesis, nor one out front. They did have one when it was first released but not since.

Even when we get the NY post or other papers in the area we notice on Hyundai ads they show the whole lineup including the Genesis, but they only mention the other cars by name.

Wow. Hyundai provides the dealers with point of sale materials, but it is up to the dealer to hang/assemble/display them. I shudder a little bit when I think that these are the dealers that Hyundai is stuck while trying to get their name off the ground. That said, I have some more Genesis window clings that I have to hang. Now where's my squeegee.....

Re: What are you local dealerships doing to promote the Hyundai Genesis on their lot?

I have not seen a single piece of Genesis collateral in any of the dealerships in NJ. This week I was told by one NJ dealer(Towne) that Hyundai has decided not to build the V8 Genesis anymore, and two- that the V8's were not scheduled for production until 2nd quarter in 2009(Autoworld). Both indicated that if you want a Genesis you better get thier ASAP as all of thier allocations for the rest of the year were spoken for and that they might be able to find you one. Needless to say, scratch these 2 dealerships. A bit disapointing since one was a Costco dealer.

By the way, I received the following email from Hyundai on Friday

Jim, when you think about it, safety is about more than just being able to walk away from an accident. Sure, the all-new Genesis offers the security of 8 airbags, front and rear side-impact door beams, automatic seat belt pretensioners, and electronic active front head restraints. But it also features innovations like Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with a Traction Control System, and ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist — to help you avoid an accident in the first place.
Now, if we put this much thought into safety features, imagine what went into the rest of the car. The 375-horsepower* Genesis will be in dealerships shortly. Welcome to a new era of luxury.

I guess the operative question is what does shortly mean in Korea?

Re: What are you local dealerships doing to promote the Hyundai Genesis on their lot?

I understand where you're coming from. You make sense and I agree as I've thought of this.. But the root of the problem is HYUNDAI. They are not giving their dealerships enough incentive to promote the brand. By incentive, I mean forcing dealerships to FOLLOW THROUGH.

"Market the Genesis. Or we're not selling you vehicles anymore."

Well actually, Hyundai did its job with the Genesis test drive event and the commercials. The dealers is a different story. No new cars at the dealer get special attention.

Hi, first post here. Do you know what the Costco pricing is for V8+Tech by any chance?

Re: What are you local dealerships doing to promote the Hyundai Genesis on their lot?

costco pricing is basically $300 over invoice... if you go to costco.com and click on automotive you can get the information, problem is that they will get in touch with you even if your not ready to buy.

AAA has the same offer, but their website will give you all the information you need without sending your information to the dealer before you want to as long as your member.

Re: What are you local dealerships doing to promote the Hyundai Genesis on their lot?

Nothing on the outside of the dealership. inside of course the walls are decked with genesis stuff....

Their marketing tool... ME!

that is what i was told when i was offered the car at $2.5k under MSRP. they said they wanted one out there with their name on it.

Unless it is regionalized, it's 42K, or MSRP here in FL. Basically, early on, the Costco, SAM's, USAA, etc. deals keep you from paying dealer markups. Only deals around here are "internet pricing", which might save you $300-$400.:(

Nothing at all in Canada
They have a car outside but no sing of anything else
You walk inside, nothing you have to ask to get a chance to take an appointment to talk to a sels rep.
