  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Damn this site!! J/K. Great site and hello all!

So I have been perusing this forum for the better part of all day, especially the pic sticky..Some purty cars for sure. I was set on empire grey, then saw ACE's white car..man thats boss hog! Rloyola's Empire looks real bad arsed too. Damn you guys, make my thought process harder than it already is.

I don't care which one is faster. :D

Will it look funny without a spring kit if i got 20's? Sorry i know nothing about aftermarket wheels, springs etc.. if it ruins the ride (ie not smooth) than i want nothing to do with it. :-)

Welcome to our little community. You can not go wrong with either color.

Some of us try very hard on this site to adhere to protocol and avoid giving any direct advice, put rather just opinion / point of veiw, so here goes;

Although I speak from 1G point of view, the white is a tad more difficult to keep clean, especially the black soot on the rear bumper.

If you do not care which color is faster, I find the 20 inch will be a tad stiffer than the stock 19" wheels, because there is less of a side wall and therefore one 'may feel' more of the road surfaces...

Just my two cents...

Yes, 20's will make the ride much stiffer. Same for after-market springs (probably to a somewhat lesser extent). Given the cost of those, you really have to have be passionate about having a unique car (not stock) as the overriding reason for doing it.

If you live in a warm climate, I would go with silver, which keeps your car cooler in the sun. White is too hard to keep clean IMO.

If you live in a very cold climate, the empire grey would be good.

I'm just going to leave this right here....

Colour choice may be the hardest thing about picking a Genesis - I had an easier time with engine and trim level than I did with colour. That's because they all look good - particularly when you see them in person on the car as opposed to photos - try visiting a few dealerships and walk the back lot.

Why do you want to spend a pile of money on 20" tires and wheels - particularly if it's not something you know a lot about and you aren't even sure you will like how it will look? What drives the "gotta have 20's" desire?

Oh, and while all the colours look good, it's a scientific fact that white looks best. :D

And I don't find white hard to keep clean at all - it's actually quite easy - doesn't show that light coating of dust the way dark colours do. Black on the other hand - looks fabulous for the 5 minutes after you wash it then you'll want to wash it again. The only downside to white, IMO, is that white cars in general are bloody well everywhere - easily the most popular shade across the board. Of course, they mostly don't look as good as the Genesis. :D

White and black are a dime a dozen. In fact if you build a Mercedes, both these colors are included ad no additional cost. Choses something else and it's $900-$1,400 more. That being said, only you can chose the one you like. Do not forget, Montecito Blue is the fastest. :D

Funny how times have changed. Back in the early 80's. White cars started becoming the rage and were a premium charge on certain models. Now they are mainstream. Go figure.

Empire State Grey all day long! the color is so beautiful, it will still look good even on 20's w/o lowering the car. Don't believe me? wait till tomorrow, I'll prove it to you :D

ps. don't get those guys seriously about which color is faster, it's pretty obvious which one is :D ;)

I recommend trying to see the colors in as many different lighting conditions as possible (bright sunlight, overcast, night, sunrise/sunset).

Also, have you decided on an interior color yet? You'll spend a lot more time looking at the interior than the exterior.

I like the look of bigger wheels, adds a bit of sportiness look to it. After looking at some of the cars in the picture sticky, i would most definitely like the way it looks. My main concern is how much worse does the ride get. if it is substantial, where i am going to feel every little rock and bump, then i'll do without..or maybe get smaller wheels that might not affect ride so much.

This is the best advice yet. I almost went for a black but when I saw it in sunlight it looked like a lucky charms commercial with all those metal flake colors going on. No offence intended, just not to my taste just like some of you may think Montecito blue is not very nice. ;)

Yes, totally agree with what StarPower said about different lighting conditions.

btw. Montecito blue is a very nice color (imho) ...... just not that fast ;)

I agree and the Casablanca White is more of a pearl shade with some metal flake and really shines close up. Also, at least IMO the more classic two colors for luxury type cars are either white or black and as been noted black is the worst color to keep looking good. I really like my grey interior also and something I also had on both my other Hyundais.

I do like the greys Hyundai has used and both my 2010 Elantra and 2013 Sonata Ltd. where their Harbor Grey.

With all that being said any particular color is so individual preference their really is not right or wrong answer, except maybe a white Corvette or a Yellow Mustang:p

Gorgeous!! Now tell us you have an upscale license plate holder on the way.

Montecito Blue. Same car, different colors due to shot at different angles. Fastest color by the way :D. When walking across a well light parking lot at night it looks like Empire State Gray.
