  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,
I just leased a 2015 3.8 AWD Genesis sedan. The colors are Ext: Montecito Blue and Int: Beige. I am now interested in getting rid of the dealer license plate frames and getting some nice replacements. On Amazon I see silver/chrome and matte black frames, some with the word Genesis inscribed on the lower edge. I would love to get members opinions on which would look best. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Loving the car so far.

I got a plain matte black metal version from Amazon. Love the look.

I took both of the dealer ones off. You don't need them. Just screw the plate into the frame mounting holes.

I like the chrome frame on my black car - the car has some aluminum highlights, so the chrome blends nicely on the back plate area. Did not use a frame for the front (required).

....... some with the word Genesis inscribed on the lower edge.

Forget this one! those letters will peel off in less than a week. Waste of money.

Chrome or polished stainless is the only way to go.

Thanks to all of you for your answers. I decided to go with WeatherTek frames.

Weathertech Licence Plate Frames/enclosures

Good choice...you will like the look....:) and it's a quality product

I had those on my Gen 1 as they looked to be a good product and usually you get what you pay for. I say usually as this was expensive but the acrylic they use is crap. Turned yellow and hazy after only 2 years and I am far from the Florida sun heat. Hope yours turn out well, maybe they changed the acrylic over the years.

That being said I went with a thin satin black plain frame which looks great IMHO.

I can see using a clear plastic cover to protect the front plate, but I have never had a problem without one for the rear plate. Fortunately, the state where I now live only requires rear plates.

There is nothing uglier on a car than plastic that is supposed to be clear, but has yellowed.

I still say that polished stainless steel is the best looking frame.

Get you some of these...they actually look pretty nice...at least on my black Genesis :D..the only problem is that you have to buy 2 sets since for some odd reason, it only has one bolt for the rear license plate in the set.
