In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello everyone,

I'm going to the Hyundai dealer on friday to most likely buy a 2010 Genesis 4.6! Super excited but im hung up on the color, i either want black or white, and they are both great colors and can not decide...any suggestions/reasons why not to get those colors? Im also concerned that the tan interior is too light and will show dirt and marks from jeans (black interior is out of the question), so please also post comments about tan and brown interior.

Thank you guys so much! if it wasnt for this forum i wouldnot be buying a Genesis.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have the Black/Saddle interior and get compliments all the time... Debated between the tan and brown interior for a while but haven't given it a second thought since bringing the car home. The brown interior just looks so plush IMO. The tan interior looked like it would show smudges and dirt too easily.

White exterior looks sharp as well but a little too "glittery" for me... Still a beautiful color. White / Saddle looks gooood.

I live in TX and use a sunshade in the front and back when parked in the sun... car feels fine when I come back to it.

In the end get the color you like. I'm sure you know the pros and cons to each. Black is harder to keep clean but nothing looks as good as a clean black car.

I'll post some pics when I get the car back from the dealership if you would like, but I'm sure you can find several on the site. Good luck on your decision!

I looked all over the site and didnt see very good pics of black or white with saddle. So i would greatly appreciate it if you could post some pics! I'm 100% on your side about the tan interior and have eliminated it as one of my options. I live in Austin, Texas as well and we both know it gets very hot here!
Thank you very much for your time and courtesy!

Here is a link to ASHDUMP's car. His was the one I was referring to as it is a very nice color combo. Sorry to steal your thunder Ash.

Can't go wrong with either one.

Love Austin... went to school there during the VY years. Recently moved to DFW and I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss Austin. I'll move back one day for sure.

I've been going through the same debate between colors. Like black..like white with saddle...
Then I drove a dark blue with tan interior...Thought that was a great combination.. Not sure what I will do..

@ ck2113- thanks for the link! cant wait to see your pics and i too love Austin!

@genesiswannabee- i agree too, i like the blue but not a fan of the tan interior...have you decided what color combo you like??

We're sure if you call your mom she can help you decide on the right color--

What makes you so sure his mother has even given him permission to buy a Genesis?

Now, now boys; no flaming the newbies. It's not exactly welcoming.

To Genesiswannabee: We owners of Sapphire Blue gennies w/tan interiors know that all of the other Genny owners secretly long for our cars and are merely posing. Don't let them tell you differently.

Seriously though, my tan interior looks fine after two years of ownership. Don't sweat it too much - I just wish they made the sapphire w/saddle interior - that would be a truly awesome combo.

I have the tan interior and it still looks perfect after 15 months and I am a pretty big guy and wear jeans to work a couple days a week. I will throw a towel over the seat if I happen to be wearing a new unwashed pair of jeans just in case. Otherwise, if you like the light interior, don't be scared off. If it does get a little dirty a few sprays of Lexol (thanks, TJPark) and all is well again.

i have the white with black interior...i don't think anyone has this combination..
took me about 4 month to find this baby~~

Black/black works for me, but I never carry passengers so I'm the only one who would mess it up. I never eat or drink in the car, so there's not much to make a mess anyway.

a lady here at work has the burgandy/tan 4.6 with slightly tinted windows. Beautiful and elegant!

However, my silver on black with the quad exhaust looks Beautiful and SPORTY!!

No worries ck!

I'd drool over Black and Saddle as well! I'm a huge fan of saddle inside the Genesis... I surprised not to see more of it.

I could not find a black over saddle quickly available and got the tan (cashmere). I got really close to a white over saddle but I'm glad I went with black - it really shines. Beautiful paint without a flaw.

Went to my local dealer today - they only had 1 in the showroom, and 4 on the lot.

Showroom car was an "aggressively priced" 2009 4.6 - Black on Black. When I asked the salesman how "aggressively priced" it was, he didn't know, and the other guy in the building didn't know either ><

Black was definitely my first choice before I went there today. I was also considering platinum, and lately, the cabernet. There's one member on these forums with a delicious-looking cabernet red 3.8...... in addition, the interior was a crapshoot between black or cashmere. Not a big fan of the saddle for some reason. It's a fine color, just not my style.

Well, going to the dealership didn't help!

The 4 cars outside were black, platinum, sapphire and wouldn't you know it, a titanium.

The titatinum was right next to the black, and man... now I just can't decide! I wish they would have a buy one get one half off deal so I could pick up both of them! XD

Now... here's my question to you good folk: the three interior colors advertised on Hyundai's site are: BLACK, SADDLE and CASHMERE... yet I swear that two of the lot cars had a GRAY interior - same color as the top of the dash on all the cars. Does anyone know if GRAY is one of the 2011 colors, and their website is possibly not updated?

Also... is the wood-grain dash and door "wrap-around" treatment available... or was that released in the 2009's only? Sounds like you never know what you're gonna get in terms of interior color combos....

Thanks in advance.

I don't own a genesis yet, but plan on getting one soon. I was also trying to decide between the black and white. Which is easier to keep clean? I had white cars in the past and the dirt and stains seemed to get baked on and very hard to remove. Although I have never owned a black car I did own a dark blue / navy in the past and don't remember that being as difficult to keep clean. What are your suggestions?

I have black and I love it - but it's hard to keep looking good. I keep it in my garage, and dust it off daily with Cal car duster, and use meguair's spray detailer frequently to remove smudges, fingerprints, water spots, etc. I generally wash it only after driving in rain because otherwise it doesn't get dirty enough to need washing given my daily maintenance regimen. With a white or silver car this work would be less necessary.

Darker colos IMO are generally harder to keep clean. I have the Cabernet Red Pearl and its almost as bad as black. It can look dusty/dirty an hour after you wash it.

I felt the white I had prior was much easier to keep clean. The best colors for not showing dirt are generally silver and beige/gold. My 99 S10 pickup is a pewter color and it never looks dirty even when it hasn't been washed in a long time.
