If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Took it in to get a new tire. The roads where I live are terrible.

Edit: This was actually yesterday, but I figure it's close enough. I don't get on the computer every day.

Today I washed mine with Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo, decontaminated with Nanoskin Fine Wash sponge, polished with Pinnacle Advance Finishing Polish with a DA polisher, IPA all around to check and topped with Pinnacle Souveran wax.

Did this ever happen? were there any results? :)

They did replay, but I never checked if they ever posted this picture or not.

It really was a perfectly timed and perfectly blocked image. I would be very surprised if they did not use it at some point. For a national corporation that pic is gold.

Took my Genesis on a small road trip (500 or so miles total) with some buddies to play in a golf tournament this past weekend. Not even out of the city yet and got a decent sized rock chip in my windshield from a semi.

Started looking up online best way to go about getting it fixed this morning. My insurance will apparently cover it at no cost to me and not charge me the deductible nor raise my premium so I let them arrange it. I hope it goes smooth with no issues but the chip is at the lowest possible part of the glass that it could have hit without catching the hood. Kind of a weird location for a rock to hit. The chip is halfway into the clear part of the windshield and halfway into the black dotted part of the windshield. I hope its not some weird abnormality where they can't fix it and I have to replace the whole damn thing.

Anyway, appointment made for them to come to my work this afternoon so I guess I'll find out shortly.

Safelite glass repair guy came and fixed the chip. He said it was about the biggest overall size chip that could be fixed but he did it and all is well. It's now fully guaranteed by them for the life of the car so if it spreads anymore at all then they will pay to replace the windshield. All is well!

Because the center arm rest should see a lot of wear I wanted a little extra protection and saw this faux suede material in the mark down section at JoAnn Fabrics. The cover is double sided so it can be turned over as needed and the suede texture helps prevent it from moving around on the arm rest. To help I made two channels on each side and for weight used some old Pachinko balls I had laying around. While it does have to be removed to access the center console, we don't open it that often and it's not hard to simply take it on/off as needed.

Pic of cover only:

While it doesn's show very well the color is darker than the grey leather and really pops visually. This cover is slightly shorter than the arm rest is long because the piece I used was leftover from making some door inserts for the pet door covers I bought and didn't cut the strip for them big enough for the left over to completely cover the arm rest.

I have been using a ridiculous (like 850-950 gsm) mirofiber for mine, but it can slide a little. I have been meaning to go to joann or london for another project, I will have to look for suede for this purpose while I am there.

uummm, is that a flux capacitor in your passenger door pocket?

edit - do you sew by hand or use a machine, and if the latter, what do you use?

Dropped her on Ark's today. Wheels and tires will be installed this Tuesday. I will post more pics after wheels go on.

Switched over from Lexus back in April and have been lurking last two months to get inspiration and ideas. Specs on wheels will be Velgen VMB6 Matte Gunmetal 20x9 +32 and 20x10.5 +45. Tires are Continental DWS06 245/35/20 and 285/30/20.

Good choice of wheels. I think those Velgens looks very nice on 2G

Just remember.....you will rub on front fenders after you put them on! go very slow on/off driveway.

Don't blame the wheels, blame the springs, because they're too short :p

You have the V8 correct? I was hoping for a tad more on the drop for the V6 but I can live with this height until someone releases coilovers. Looks like the V8 sits a tad lower due to the weight. Im sure a fender roll and pull are in my future.

Yes, mine is a V8 and the front sits at 1.75 lower than on OEM springs, a V6 sits at ~1.6. Yeah, pulling and/or rolling fenders should work too.

I didn't do any of those, I'll be waiting for "updated" springs from ARK.

I am hoping we will eventually have something like softsports, almost comically minor drop, but slightly higher overall rate from a progressive unit.

Just ordered ARK GT-F springs. yes, gentlemen, they are back in stock! I emailed to see if they had any left (since they supposedly weren't going to make any) and they told me they had just received a new shipment with some.

I know you guys like to slam your cars but I just want a 1" drop, as if it was a factory sport suspension option. Next is 20" wheels/tires from Tire Rack.

I already installed those new GT-F springs on my car (front only) and guess what.....the drop is about 0.5 inch on my V8 which is heavier than v6.

I'm pissed as I have spent over a $1000 and the car looks like half done.
I'll post a picture later on.

they seem to have given Reggie's car the drop I want. Granted, these were the test springs. I hope it works out the same on mine. I am looking for subtle. My old bmw 5er had juuuust the right gap straight from factory. I just don't want the Genny to look like i'm going off-roading when I put the 20s on there.

Yes, Reggie has them on (prototype/test springs, probably GT-F) originally and he didn't like the drop, so he went with GT-S - more aggressive drop, which is ~1.6 for a V6 and 1.75 for a V8.

Now, here are some pictures of my car, before and after...

1. original, unmolested suspension

2. lowered it on GT-S springs front drop is 1.75 rear 1.25

3. front on a new GT-F with mild drop of 0.5 inch. I left the rear for now, since both type of springs S and G looks the same, so the drop will probably stay the same.

Last 2 images are both springs to each other for comparison, sent it to me by ARK stuff.

Front springs ....as you can see, the difference in drop between them it's huge - over an 1 inch! hence the drop now is "only" 0.5 inch!

Rear springs

Wheels are on and the drop with the Ark GT-S springs is almost perfect in my opinion.I would prefer a tad lower. No rub at all and I haven't had any trouble with driveways or inclines.

Specs are 20x9 +32 and 20x10.5 +45
245/35/20 and 285/30/20
