  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

looks great lowered on stock wheels D...

Indeed! I said the same thing to my wife yesterday, that lowering this car as little as ~.5 - .7 makes "huge" difference in appearance.

Got the show shoes on.

My tire guy informed me I have two slight bends in my rear wheels. :(
I guess I have no choice but to buy new Summer wheels in the spring.

I am going with the same wheels Dareck has but I am probably going to stick with 18s (possibly 19s).

As far as I know, Velgens are only available in 20's and up.

I think you're correct. I found a pair which looks similar enough. (For me it's mostly about the color. I just love the way they look)

Yep, Matte gunmetal is perfect match for our fastest color cars :whistling:

So after hearing some horror stories of the plastic underbelly engine cover bolts corroding, I decided to replace them with marine grade stainless steel. I purchased these from an online motorcycle specialty store. I shopped around because of the price (expensive), but high grade stainless steel is expensive. I also bought them with a coating on them as well....even more money. I used aluminum washers from HD. I dipped them in grease before installing them as added protection.

In Cleveland, they use either rock salt or a salt brine liquid to clear the snow. I've drilled out frozen bolts in the past, and the thought of 15 bolts possibly doing the same weighed on my mind. I'm also going to replace the bolts (and nuts) on the two rear side plastics panels as well. My car has only 5k miles and I plan on keeping this one awhile.

On a different note, I found a local body shop to paint my plastic engine cover (the one on top of the engine) for cheap. I want a red color and the specific shade doesn't matter, so he was willing to do it by using leftover paint from another job. I'm going to paint only around the outside and leave the center carbon look alone. I took off the Lazy H emblem and found a nice KDM emblem (from Korea) that fits perfectly in the oval indentation. Interesting thought with the S/S bolts. I live in a similar environment, although we probably get more snow up here in the great white north, and hence more salt. Might consider doing this myself.

Last week I had 4 20x8.5 Advanti Rasato wheels installed with 255/35/20 BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S tires. 2 things: wheels look fantastic on this car, especially since the matte gray finish is very similar to the matte gray finish on the grill, window silhouette, and side skirts; and these tires are absolutely amazing for the price - I get why it's the second-highest rated UHP A/S tire on Tire Rack now!

Those wheels look absolutely gorgeous on the car!

I had a set of BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 Performance Summer tires on my coupe when I traded it in. Hands down the best summer tire I've ever used.

Rim's look great....just keep away from curbs and pot holes :=(

Thanks! Seriously, these BFG's are amazing. No, they're not as good as the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, but I think of it as 95% of the Michelin's performance for 65% of the price. Then again, I believe Michelin owns BFG, so there ya go!

Oh trust me, I'm driving with a watchful eye right now! But hopefully the fact that I see lots of other Benzes and BMWs with OEM 20" wheels regularly means that if they can hit the occasional pothole and and be fine, then so I can. *fingers crossed*

Wheels look great...

May do the same wheels when my Michelin's wear out. However, 20" wheels will void my extended warranty on anything that goes wrong relating to the wheels. Can anybody with 20" rims tell me the difference in the ride?

I'd also like to know the difference in ride quality with the big rims. If it isn't too much difference I might go for 20" rims when my OEM tires wear out. Can't really justify a new tire & rim package before that, hahaha.

Says who? If you purchase wheels that have proper specs (offset, width, etc.) there is very little chance of having a warranty voided. Read up on the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

How does the ride now compare to the stock wheels? I keep asking this question but nobody with 20" wheels has yet to answer. I'm dying to know.....
