  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your Genesis G80?

Ditto on the self-imposed bait and switch. As my wife said, the angels sang to me while driving the G80.

To be frank, [Don't call me Frank..]. I was trying to justify the 2019 G90 to my wife [read: Myself] but it was just a bit larger than the LS400 I was replacing and I didn't want to make it any more difficult to pass in front of the car when it was in the garage. (My clean clothes depend on that passage...). I'm afraid when the 2020 G90s hit the Islands I might have buyers remorse. I still love my 2020 G80 3.8 Sport... Life Sucks; and then you learn about Genesis!

Thanks for this info @tarhoosier , thought I was going mad for a bit o_O

There is no specific number of posts that need to be achieved in order to PM. It is run by an algorithm that analyzes the posts and once it decides you are not a spammer then it opens up the PM feature.

Makes sense @TurtleBoy, algoirthm's are inescapable; in my profession (data scientist/business intelligence) and also this forum lol.

Quick question, I see that on your user info you haven't decided on a model yet. Are you just a Genesis Enthusiast or are you waiting for the right time to pull the trigger?

When I joined this forum, the G80 Sport was at the top of my list but due to the dealer rollout, or lack thereof in Colorado, I decided to go a different path and went with BMW and an SUV which turned out to be a great decision. I was heavily involved in tracking the new dealers so stayed around to do that and still like to help folks out when I can.

Am not a spammer, but it seems I must behave like one to get PM privileges. Irony!

I am posting here in addition to the general forum. Hyundai Circle plan A code available.
I have a code that expires on Jan 31st. If you are planning on BUYING (not leasing) it may save you some negotiation headache. PM me and I'll give it to the first person . Will post here when its gone.

Hello all, new here and in the Virginia market. Similar to others posts I am looking into the G80 after G70 felt a bit too small. I am looking for advice on if I should go with the 3.8 sport or the 3.3T? I only have one requirement due to terrible seasonal road maintenance/conditions that I am looking for which is AWD. Either 2019 or 2020 models are fine with me. Finally, I am Looking for Circle A pricing as well on any of these models to know where I need to be in negotiations.

AWD is available on both the 3.8 or the 3.3t. I've got the 3.8 base model and it's plenty of car for me.

Note that in order to get the true Sport model you must get the 3.3t, as the Sport add-on package for the 3.8 doesn't create the same car.

There is extensive discussion about which G80 trim is "best" in this forum. Use the search feature.
I posted my thoughts on the 2018 G80 models here.

I've not looked at models since 2018 as I am very happy with my 2018 G80 HTRAC/AWD Sport 3.3TT. I traded in my 2011 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 RWD at 100K miles. It was my daily driver for 7 years and a great car. The 2018 3.3TT is just more weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee/fun to drive.

Go with the most you can comfortably afford, to avoid later regrets.

I bought a used 2018 G80 3.3T AWD sport for $39K with only 18K miles on it and so far I am VERY happy with my purchase. I feel like low mile used is the way to buy luxury cars particularly if they have above average reliability. So that might be another option to consider. I did a search on Cars.com for your area and there were a couple used G80 3.3T AWD sports one with about 20K miles for $38-39K. The 3.3T sport has the adaptive suspension that I don't think is in the 3.8 sport which is more of a cosmetic package.

The 2018 G80 Sport/3.3TT was the only 2018 G80 with the adaptive suspension. The "Sport" cosmetic package for the 3.8 did not become available until 2019. The Sport cosmetic package does not inlcude any of the "mechanical" features of the Sport/3.3TT model (e.g. adaptive suspension, 3.3TT engine, etc.).

Does the 2018G80 5.0 come with the adaptive suspension?

No, not the U.S model. I can't speak to non-U.S versions.

Per the U.S. 2018 G80 sales brochure, the only 2018 G80 model/package with and adaptive suspension is the 3.3TT Sport.
Performance: Front and rear independent 5-link suspension with Sport Continuous Damping Control

I test drove a 2018 G80 3.8/RWD, 3.3TT/AWD, and 5.0/RWD before purchasing the 3.3TT/AWD. Understanding this was very limited testing/driving (~15 miles /20 minutes each) , I did NOT notice much difference in handling/ride betwixt the models. Very noticeable difference in the "far right/go" pedal though ;).
