  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your Genesis G80?

2020 AWD 3.8 Base +120K/10yr B2B zero deductible warranty & NY fees (tax & license $3.2K) for $37K OTD including trade in of our 2015 G80 with 120K miles.
So what would you say the purchase price of your new car was without the trade in amount?

Without the extended warranty, trade in and taxes etc? About $34 -35K and in my area dealers are not in a "let's make a deal" mode like maybe some other parts of the USA. Limited stock and very few dealers we had to drive to CT miles to find a 2020 G80 in stock. NJ dealer wanted 5k more.

New 2020 G80 AWD 3.8 Ultimate package
Vik black/caramel interior
$42,500 OTD
Details: OTD includes $2770 in Michigan taxes and a $4500 trade-in
More details: Dealership was offering employee pricing and had a $6550 rebate on new 2020 models

While not a new car, I bought my 2017 G80 3.8 with only 10.5 k miles on it for $29,500 + tax and dealer fees of $550.

Nearly new with such low miles.

Curious what trim, base or loaded?

I really don't know. Since it was a used car, there was no window sticker. How can I find out?
If it has a retractable sunroof, it's at least the middle model. If it has the heads-up display on the windshield, it's the top model. There's a list of features, somewhere.

I was curious because there's $5-6k in price difference between the trim levels, so that can significantly affect current value.

My base 2019 G80 was $42k MSRP, I got it new for $37.5. Next level up was about $47k, then it jumped to about $52k.

The top model in 2017 had the 5.0 V8 Ultimate trim.

Mine is probably the base model. It looks like the original MSRP was $42,375. I was actually looking to buy a new G70 with the 4 banger, but after driving it, I liked it but not for the money I would have to spend. I was about to go home and look at something else when the salesman told me about the G80. I loved the car and bought it on the spot.

I had the same experience buying my G80, went to buy the G70 but it was just too small for me and passengers. Salesman was in front seat with knees up to glove box, and my 5'4" wife was behind him with her knees against the front seat. Then I looked at the G80 and never looked back...

Me too. I hadn't even thought about the G80 but after feeling a bit cramped in the G70, I researched the inside dimensions of cars in the price range I was looking at. The G80 had 2+ inches more room in all categories. Fit like a glove though it took me a little while to find that sweet spot with all of the adjustments!

2018 G80 Sport AWD with less than 18k miles.
36.7k OTD

Now I just have to wait for it to be delivered.

On Tuesday, I traded my 2018 G80 RWD 3.8 Premium for a 2021 G80 RWD 2.5T Prestige. Dealers in Florida are not giving any discounts on the 2021 G80 (some are adding a little) and are adding $5K to $10K to the GV80.

Since I couldn't get down from the MSRP, I negotiated away all the fees - no Dealer Fee, Doc Fee, DMV Paperwork Fee, ADP, etc. So my OTD Price was the sticker of $58,025 plus sales tax and actual FL DMV fee.

Curious, do they actually have the doc fee listed as $0.00 on your paperwork? The way the Florida statutes are written, the doc fee is interpreted to be non-negotiable and every customer must be charged the same amount.

Congratulations. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

Yes, they have it listed, and they have the dealer fee listed, too. I told them I didn't care as long as they subtracted it from the MSRP. So my actual purchase price was the $58,025 - $778 dealer fee - $165 doc fee = $57,082. Then they added the dealer fee and doc fee to bring the taxable total to $58,025.

Thanks for the congrats!

Kevin

I'm currently yanking the chains of several Florida dealers and the best out the door price I've found on a no option G80 is $51,000 otd, but I want $49,900 before I pull the trigger. That $51k includes a $950 dealer fee.
