Dach, was the extended warranty through Genesis or another company?
Extended Warranty not negotiable in Florida. TRUE. The reason is that Florida considers it an Insurance Policy and Florida lLaw will not allow insurance agents (dealers) to charge anything other than what the company suggests.Ok just got home with my new G80. I am really excited. The car is beautiful and drives like a dream. I ended getting a spectacular price. This was a Black on Black 2.5 Advance and Prestige. The MSRP for the vehicle is $58,025. The sales price we agreed on was $51,600 which led to an out the door price of $56,413.
this price includes a $998 dealer fee which is very high but the price is very low so even if you just add it to the sales price it is still an insanely good price.
the finance guy pitched me the extended warranty. These are not really negotiable in Florida but he cut purchase price to $51,400 and he cut the financing from 2.99% to 2.59% for 72 mos. With this I paid $58,569.83 out the door including the extended warranty and he let me swipe the down payment of $6,000 on my credit card for the points. I will pay that down next week when the insurance payout comes in.
I am happy to answer any questions.
And the selling dealer was......?Extended Warranty not negotiable in Florida. TRUE. The reason is that Florida considers it an Insurance Policy and Florida lLaw will not allow insurance agents (dealers) to charge anything other than what the company suggests.
This stems from the day’s insurance agents would charge customers more than the suggested price. HOWEVER, the way the law is written, dealers can’t charge less, either.
Don’t matter the dealer location. If your address and location is in Florida, the above holds true. And the selling dealer was......?
Which dealers did you visit and where did you purchase ?Just as an update I spent a lot of yesterday morning shopping around 2.5 RWD Advanced and Prestige cars. I’m in S. Florida so everything is pretty much RWD.
I have 2 dealers that have offered fairly substantial discounts. $3,000 on the prestige version of the the 2.5 and $5,300 at another dealer. That put the out the door price between $57,500 and $60,200 for cars with an MSRP of $58,025. I’m going to try and finalize the better deal this morning.
the payout on my 2015 Genesis Tech with 72,000 miles came in at $16,500 which is fine.
When I bought my 2019 G80 5.0 Ultimate, 2300mi, in October 2020 there was a $4000 difference between the on-line price and the advertised window sticker. We ended up paying the on-line price, cheaper, after some discussion. They aren't the only ones doing that. We were also looking at a 2020 Lexus GS350. The on-line price was $5000 cheaper than the window sticker. Both cars were on "sale". They were a Hyundai and Lexus dealers. I have no idea why they do that but it seems like a common practice.I received an email from a local Genesis dealer (50 miles away) via TrueCar giving me a $2000 discount (minus their $999 hokey dealer fee) for a base white/black G80 and I have 5 days to respond. Doing a little checking on their website, I see the G80 vin window sticker matches a car with the right colors but with an msrp almost $9k higher. I'm trying to figure out what this salesman is up to as I emailed visual window sticker proof of the mistake and have heard nothing but crickets. Tacky bait and switch?
I can't either. I wish you continued good fortune.I paid $33,800 otd, taxes and fees for 2019 g80 3.8 ulitmate package CPO with 12,000 miles from Roseville Hyundai.
Complimentery maintenance tranferred, 3 years of genesis connected, and maps. I still can't believe I found this car.
It depends a bit on the options. If it's a base G80 then it's about 10k under original 2017 price, not a great deal but not bad. If it's a premium or 5.0 engine, it's a better deal. I'm not sure of all the options in 2017, but I believe if it had a moonroof, it's a more premium model.I am currently looking at a 2017 G80 with 30k miles for $27k used from a genesis dealer. Is that a bad deal?
I looked at a 2015 kia k900 5.0 ultimate in 2017 that had 30k miles for $27k CPO.
Its a 5.0 ultimate with 30k miles listed at $27k. Woman driven and the sales rep said he could do 10 year/ 100k on power train at Genesis. It depends a bit on the options. I bought my base 2019 G80 at the end of 2019 for $37.5, new.
Sounds like a pretty good deal to me if it's in great shape otherwise. Maybe others here could chime in.Its a 5.0 ultimate with 30k miles listed at $27k. Woman driven and the sales rep said he could do 10 year/ 100k on power train at Genesis.
Good deal?
I'm not certain, but I think some of the 2017 models did not come with Android Auto / Apple Carplay. You might check that if it's a big deal to you.Its a 5.0 ultimate with 30k miles listed at $27k. Woman driven and the sales rep said he could do 10 year/ 100k on power train at Genesis.
