  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Software developer. I'm a developer on a web application for administering a wide variety of mental health surveys. The patient answers a series of questions about their depression, psychosis, cancer treatments, drug rehab, domestic violence, foster parents, and so forth depending upon the product they use. When they finish, a nice little PDF is generated for their case worker, therapist, or physician summarizing the patient answers and including a few graphs that compare the patient's symptoms with other people in the same demographic.

(I can't speak for anyone else in the thread, but I don't actually own a Genesis. I'm on the site because I'm a fan of the car. But I have three kids and my oldest is 5. I probably won't be able to afford something like the Genesis until it's time for my mid-life crisis car.)

Psychologist and pilot (not in that order!):D.

DOD/TDY contractor for PTSD/return from Iraq/Afgan. mental health/stress issues (we all need to be ready to be "there" for these men & women--and many have given more than they know...)

Former FAA military mission coordinator/Vandenburg missile shots to Kwajalein & Nevada Area 51 liaison .

Life is good in So. AZ;)

Bless you for your work. In office chit chat at work some of the psychology researchers have been discussing the mental health issues for tens of thousands of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families. The situation is gut-wrenchingly sad.

When I was hired, 1975, mandatory retirement was age 55. Shortly before 1975 maybe 1974 or 1973 there was no mandatory retirement age. I think it was changed to 57 in 1995 or 1994 when they realized they were going to lose their entire senior management all at once.

Where was your father stationed? I was in New York from 1975 to 1995 and Miami from 1995 to 1996.

P.S. I have bought my dentist a new Mercedes in the last four or five years. She is trying to get a Volkswagen out of me right now but I'm resisting.

My father started in St. Louis, moved to Chicago then to Pittsburgh and finished in Erie, Pa. He kept requesting transfers when openings were available to get to Erie (my mother's hometown).

Thanks for helping someone in my profession. ;)

I'm a "real" Banker. The kind that serves its' local community and lends reasonable amounts of money on reasonable properties to people with reasonable means to make payments.

We are just a sick as many of you are at bailing out the companies that like to call themselves banks, but are really something completely different, not to mention unregulated.

Fortunately our business has been strong as many flock to local banks. We are all in this together.

Yeah, the quest for growth led many "banks" to pursue unnatural acts, such as originating alternative mortgages out of footprint and through brokered channels off balance sheet...

Me, I'm a strategy director (internal consultant) in financial services, at a company that has also deliberately (mostly) steered clear of unnatural acts.

In a former life, I was a high-energy / elementary particle physicist. My last academic position was at the Center for Theoretical Physics at MIT before moving onto business/consulting...and I also did experimental high-energy physics before then at places like Fermilab (Batavia, IL just outside of Chicago), DESY (in Hamburg, Germany), and Jefferson Lab (in Virginia).

We Genesis Owners are a diverse bunch!

I have strong interests in cosmology but alas, my intellect failed me. :)

Hi Guys. Great group involved with a lot of diversity in jobs. I own an insurance agency in CT . I found a really fun group to insure on a national basis - the Amusement Industry. I insure amusement parks, family entertainment centers, go karts, mini golf , laser tag , water parks, etc. Great group of people to be involved with. Have internet - will travel. Now I cant wait for my Genny to travel in. Waiting for the 2010. **Note from an insurance agent** - put $0 down if you lease. If you get into an accident and your car is a total loss, you do not get any of your down payment returned. The insurance company just pays off the balance to lease company. You are out the deposit. (for what its worth!). I cant wait for the warm weather here~!!

A HUGE thank you for sticking to your principals!

My banker is exactly the same. local/regional, a friend and mentor. While he is younger than me, he has a lot of business savvy. He GETS my business and has invested his time to understand what I do for a living. He takes the time to follow trends in our industry in the news. He has 2 master's degrees- Psychology and Physics (go figure why he's a banker).

I knew him socially for about 5 years before using his services. Now, it has paid off for him. He has done the banking on 2 very large realestate deals for me and we're also moving the majority of our deposits to his bank. I say this to point out that intelligence, friendship and ethics DO pay off!!!
