  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you use?

Just wondering, What do you use the slot in the dash, above the ashtray for??
Seem it is not practical for anything? Pens will fly out when you brake or turn. So if you found a good use for it, let us know........

My cell phone fits there, and my pager (yeah I know, but my company still requires us to carry pagers!) It is a very slim opening.

I did remove the metal ashtray liner and use that hole for stuff

The one thing i wish the Gen had was a few more cubbies for small things...my lil ole Civic had 7 compartments to toss candies, change, etc.

I store my company badge in there. I have to show it to security at the gate when I arrive at work.

I also removed the metal cigarette Patton of the ash tray, great for storing change no rattles.

The slot holds my cell phone which is attached by a loop to the car key which also fit next to it. I like the slot.

I think I could fashion a holder to fit in there that would hold some extra CD's

But i have a 16GB memory stick in the USB slot so I really have a lot of music capabilities. I try and only have Audio DVD's in the changer the top Lexicon system is awesome. Still hoping to buy a NAV-TV unit someday so I can fill it with Videos. Then I could really use a DVD holder in that slot.

Small leather coin holder, no rattles. Ashtray holds gas card.

Badge for the office, my wallet...

I put my EZ-Pass toll tag in there rather than velcroing it to the windshield. It doesn't work down there, but it's no trouble holding it up as I pass through the booth when I happen to use the toll road.

good idea

I do the same thing here in Atl. Mine toll pass is of thestick on variety and a little bit bigger than a credit card. The slot works perfectly for that.

what slot?...the little slot bout the size of a matchbox is for your key fobe.....oops I just went into the garage to check out the slot, after looking I think I know which slot you refer to. I keep my cash there

Nothing, its not covered and I hate anything in plain view. IMO the one interior flaw in the Genny is lack of storage space. Also, on Non-Tech cars no sunglass holder, well, sucks!

Where the hell does everyone put there loose change?!?!?!?!

I have a little leather zippered pouch that fits under the lid next to the cigarette lighter. Got it at Walgreens or something like that.
