  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you want Genesis to do?

Last but not least...dealership junk fees, above MSRP mark ups, and dealer after market installed equipments! They never convey respect to the buyer, build confidence on the years of post sale services to come, engender loyalty that is build on mutual trust. No luxury brand can afford the absence of these elements. Dealership price gouging behaviors must not be allowed.
I agree with you, but the last paragraph, when you mention the markups and add ons.. that's everywhere. I thought it would have died by now, but I guess not. You will find that in a lot of hard to get cars as well when we did not have the "Chip" excuse

These are absent in the Canadian Genesis market. And what a relief!
It continues to be the #1 reason why I like Genesis here, with the product being a close second..

Comparable BMW, Audi, Lexus are all marked up 4k to 6k vs. their MSRPs.
Long timers in those brands here in Canada, claim that you can go in always and negotiate, and that it's a given.
But why should I? Why would I waste my time and energy for a problem they created in the first place?

And no trim/package details provided here on the inventory in their dealer websites too (they don't have window stickers concept here in Canada, except Lincoln). Such a sham.

At least Genesis has that angle of the online car research and buying piece figured out.

This might help with all those add ons

Wow..these happen? I must be living under a rock 😐

a service contract for oil changes on an electric vehicle
nitrogen-filled tires that contain no more nitrogen than normally exists in the air

I have a friend that bought me with him when he got his Lexus. My job was to say no to the guy in the glass office that tries to make more money off of you for extras than they did when they sold you the car. That guy hated my guts.
But it is ashame, that something like purchasing a new car which should be a great experience is turned into a struggle.

As that expression goes, the struggle is real. Which means the key thing for us to remember is we have the ability to “ walk “ away.

He hated me too... and he did not hide it! To bad to sad...lol

My finance person was a female and I said no to it all and was out the door lol.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
At the end of the day, had Hyundai not put the cart before the horse, we wouldn't have the horrific service debacles and poor ratings. Let's face it, Toyota did it right. When Lexus was introduced, it wasn't a Toyota, it was a new mysterious luxury car. You actually had a stand alone store to get luxury service for a new luxury brand. Did the German car owners make fun of Lexus? Absolutely. Are they laughing now? Hardly. Well, now they have a Hyundai Genesis to laugh about. Not because of the quality make of the car, but the total lack of service becoming of such a car. Like the Lexus, at first, sure the newly separated but serviced at a Hyundai dealer Genesis was panned. Naturally. People are leery of new things. Had Hyundai done their homework before ever releasing the "Hyundai" Genesis, or when creating the new luxury brand come up with a new name and dealership, we probably wouldn't be here with this concern. But we are and continue to be. I love my Genesis, but I dread taking it to the dealer. They have one Genesis trained tech who has to work on Hyundais. You leave your car for a day just to get an oil change. POOR SERVICE.

Now I'm hearing rumbles of stand alones and that is great news. Once there is a nationwide or worldwide network of genuine Genesis dealers with real Genesis techs, owners will finally get the customer service they deserve driving a Genesis. Here's looking at 2024 for the start of something great.

I took delivery of my GV70 in August 2023. Soon discovered problems with the fingerprint reader which would rarely read my print first time and often not at all; even worse with my wife's. Dealer suggested that we delete original prints and re-enter new prints -- vehicle wouldn't permit prints to be deleted, either by me or by the local dealer. Then they suggested that we should delete profile and reset software to factory conditions -- the vehicle wouldn't permit that either! Eventually the dealer somehow was able to delete profile (presumably by contacting head office?) and we re-entered new prints. Just to make sure the problem had been resolved, we tried to delete fingerprints again - NO SUCH LUCK.
There's obviously a software or hardware flaw in my vehicle and also in several other vehicles in N.America, as I've discovered on the internet.
It's going to be difficult to sell this vehicle unless a potential buyer doesn't care about the flawed software?
Would be interested in knowing how many other GV70 owners have tried to delete their fingerprints; I suspect this problem may not be rare, just that most owners haven't had the need to delete/re-enter their prints.

Contact Genesis direct and open a ticket. Get one of their engineers to get involved.

Even though we have that option, we opted not to utilize it Justin case we did not keep it.

What's your vision for Genesis? The brand... What would you like to see them do? A new car? A new CUV? A new EV? What? High performance? Ultra luxury? What can Genesis do that would make you say, "Wow! I'm proud to be a Genesis owner - and I'm going to remain loyal forever."?
Hybrid SUV and "working & consistent" connected services & tech.

Just bought a low mileage 2023 GV70 Sport Prestige. I am unable to delete previous owner profile, unable to reset to factory default, unable to load/update modem or maps, unable to update software, unable to update "outdated" navigation which is less than a year old. Everything I try comes back as "connection unsuccessful". The connected services app (which took days and customer service calls to connect) incorrectly reads status of things like "engine on"..... So very frustrating. Came here in the hopes of finding an answer but only finding more people with similar issues. Read so many great reviews of this car. I hear their "cloud" connection is spotty and unreliable. Anyone else suffering with these issues? About to return it as a lemon. Was wondering why previous owner only had for less than a year and so few miles. Well there you go

You will need to call the 800 number and then email or fax them what they ask for as proof of purchase. Once they receive that, it will take a day or two and then you will be able to set up your account. Your dealer should have done that for you.
And FYI, my car has been connected since I first got it and has never lost its connection. Also the app works every time. So there is hope.

They did manage to finally get my account attached to Connected Services. The services just dont work. So I'll get back to them. I think there is a malfunctioning chip somewhere

^^^. One gent had to have his entire headunit replaced, let us hope that is not the case.

I would like to see an Electric/Gas Hybrid. I think the largest issue for consumers is the distance between charge for straight electric. I thought Genesis was supposed to provide such a hybrid, but it looks like they shuttered those plans.

In the 1990's if you told me that I would buy a Hyundai, I would laugh in your face. In 2002, like you I got my first Sonata, Got a Santa fe in 2007 and another Sonata in 2009. From there I went luxury with a BMW, Acura, and a Audi. And now my GV80. I personally have had no issues with Service, but if they don't get it figured out to a point that it worries me like it does now if I have a serious issue, I will not buy another one.
May I ask where your dealer /service is located?
