  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you want Genesis to do?

What's your vision for Genesis? The brand... What would you like to see them do? A new car? A new CUV? A new EV? What? High performance? Ultra luxury? What can Genesis do that would make you say, "Wow! I'm proud to be a Genesis owner - and I'm going to remain loyal forever."?
Follow thru & put 19” wheels on the 2024 GV60, as stated, earlier,

We are having a voice problem and map problem since installing the update. Calls to Genesis are not helping. They keep saying they will talk to an engineer and get back to us, but weeks go by with no response. There are obviously bugs in the latest update which I am guesssing Genesis will resolve and then issue another update without the bug issues (map and voice). It took 4 hours to install this last update, but we were on the road that long so it was OK. 4 hours in the driveway is not a good solution. Everything OT HAPPY STARTING NOW!!!! Suggestion-calls to Genesis need to have answers, not unfulfilled promises to get back to us!

As a model. no, they've been around since 2011. The 2015/2016 Sedans were just badged Hyundai Genesis until Hyundai could establish/figure out a Brand and dealer identity, which from my perspective they are still working on. I had an interaction with the past President of Genesis Canada after reaching out to tell him of a poor "Genesis Experience" test drive I had where nobody showed up or contacted me at all. To his credit, he sent me a lengthy reply 2 days later a) acknowledging it, b) detailing exactly how it happened, c) apologized profusely and vowed to make it right and imploring me to reach out to him personally if I'd be willing to give them another chance. Solid Stand-Up guy. He was gone 6 months later, replacement has demonstrated no accountability at all, which may be indicative of how they run.
First Hyundai Genesis model was ‘09.

that seems to be the norm...was for me also!

The Genesis brand was officially announced as an independent marque on 4 November 2015, launching their first Genesis standalone model, the Genesis G90, in 2017 - (Wikipedia). Announcing and actually producing a vehicle are two very different things.

I was really nervous when we bought our GV60 mostly because the local dealer was the only Genesis dealer in our city and the next one was over 3 hours away. If they were going to be rubbish on the service front I feared I would be mostly out of luck. I already had a very sour taste with Hyundai dealer and problem prone Kona EV. I had been there so often for unscheduled service I am pretty sure I got to know every employee's name, not a good thing.

Fortunately, my GV60 has been mostly trouble free and Winnipeg Genesis dealer has been very respectful. Frankly I am pleasantly surprised that the luxury vib is more than just a sales promise.

Be the best wireless EV!

Okay, so this is super niche, but it's important to me. As a security researcher, I find this page very alienating: Genesis Vulnerability Disclosure Program || Genesis USA

If Genesis did have a bug bounty program, then all of this would be reasonable as a condition for eligibility. It's also perfectly fine that they choose not to offer any bounty. But, they don't get to have it both ways. Absent a bounty, researchers who report vulnerabilities to Genesis are doing them a gratuitous favor, and Genesis has no right to make any further demand beyond that they follow the law.

For me the first step would be a proper dealer experience. You can't become a loyal customer for life if you don't even own one of their vehicles. I just had the worst purchasing experience in 35 years of buying autos with the Hilton Head dealership. After agreeing on a price ahead got a total bait and switch at closing with $2k of BS add-ons and a host of lies, I ultimately walked out.

Genesis is currently offering a $2k Competing Owner Bonus on top of a base $1K Bonus to attract new buyers to the brand here, but if the Hyundai dealers use the same deceptive and demeaning sales tactics to sell a luxury brand it ain't gonna work, at least not with me. That Competitive Owner Bonus in SC is actually double what they're offering in NJ where I'm now looking to buy instead, so this market has a real problem with brand recognition. Also, the Concierge is nothing more than useless window dressing, the national people know nothing and offer no help. I know stand alone dealerships are on the way, but that's going to take years, in the mean time they should just sell the cars direct and separate from the Hyundai dealers to avoid alienating customers. I don't need waterfalls and hand holding in a Taj Mahal setting when purchasing, just honesty and respect

I have a question, does Genesis Corporate follow this forum? I've read tons of complaints doing research on the web, and few if any actions to correct problems. I put in a complaint thru the Concierge who was supposed to pass along to the higher ups and have yet to hear anything. I'm sure they're not happy with the problems, but don't seem to even issue an apology no less any action. This is concerning for someone looking to take the plunge on a newer brand

GMA management is very busy with PGA sponsorship and Genesis House while the dealership experience remains unacceptable.

For the 7th consecutive year, GMA dealers rank worst among Premium brand dealers in the annual J. D. Power U. S. Sales Satisfaction Index Study released Nov. 8! (GMA dealers also ranked worst in this year's J. D. Power U. S. Customer Service Index Study.)

Quite frankly, I don't know what the heck they are doing other than tarnishing the brand. I have not had a single issue with my car. My only service experiences have been with annual check ups and oil changes. I made my appointments well in advance so getting an appointment was not an issue.
But, that being said, when it is time to replace this car, (probably in a year or so, and I am still reading about the crappy service, I will not get another one. If I had had any of the nagging issues that others have had, and could not get an appointment, or a part or a loaner. I would be livid. And I love this car.

Yeah, it's a real shame that the marketing/sales/customer support parts of the company are letting down the design and engineering segments.

My wife has only had her Prestige for (4) months and sadly I’m looking to replace it at a financial loss already. Between the rattling sounds coming from the roof to poor customer service she’s had enough. Sadly I wish I had known all of this before shelling out for a 2023 GV70 Prestige. :(

If you hadn't noticed, Lexus is near the bottom as well.

While there are definitely Genesis dealerships that need to get their act together, the biggest factor in sales satisfaction is whether or not the buyer gets a deal.

While can get a good deal on a G70, those (trim-dependant) are harder to come by on the 2 best sellers, the GV70 and GV80.

Aside from Porsche, the lux brands at the top (Infiniti, AR, Lincoln, Volvo and Jaguar) are all offering deep discounts.

And on the mass market side, Hyundai is actually above Toyota, Honda and Kia, but that likely has to do with the other 3 offering fewer discounts.

Well my negative experience with Genesis dealers with cash on the table, plus others negative post sales warranty experiences, has led me to explore other options. This landed me on the Audi A6 Allroad - same money as a GV80 but supposedly better on the highway and the same cargo capacity. Supply of this model is very limited, so I'll have to see if it comes to fruition, but what a failure on Genesis' part to create marketshare. Honestly, a company this f-ed up isn't getting my $70k. Even worse for them, my daughter is graduating college in the spring, we said we'd buy her a car as a present and her first choice was the GV70, think I'd veto that at this point. Looks like another Toyota for her which we've never had a problem with

My biggest problem has been routine service. I wont go into detail, but routine maintenance has been very inconsistent with some aspects bad. I did need a loaner once and had to wait several weeks to get an appointment when they had a loaner available.

My dealer is close to opening a Genesis only dealer. That is giving me hope. My lease is up in a few months and without this i would very likely not get another one. Band for the buck is what is bringing back. The good news though is that I really do like the car a lot, and I came from several higher priced BMW, Audi and Lexus.

Quality has been basically good with mainly a few appearnce issues such as corroded looking window “chrome” moulding and interior window switches. And we all know these are very common problems.

Unfortunately they are a long way from being accepted as a quality brand.

The Audi A6 Allroad is an interesting vehicle. Great looking too. With A6 underpinnings parts and service etc. shouldn't be a problem.
