  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What does this symbol mean in the dash LCD screen?

I have a 2012 Genesis sedan, with the 3.8L V6. It comes on when I start the car and when the car is going at low speed. I didn't see anything about it in the owner's manual. The symbol is also accompanied by a beeping sound. Both symbol and sound disappears when I pick up speed while driving, such as on the freeway.

The green symbol is your center rear parking proximity alert. It normally works while in D or R below ~3 mph or so. So if it's on while you're driving forward down the road, then probably one or more sensors have failed. There's a button on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel that you can use to disable the system until you get it fixed.

THe TPMS is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System fault indicator.

What Gunkk said, but before you head to the dealer, be sure the back bumper is clean. I've had an occasional false trip from road gunk, but usually in crappy weather and slushy roads.

Thank you for the info!

Where is this button that you speak of?

On the Ultimate it is on the center consul Back button on the right with a P on it. Not sure of other models.

The left-most one of the four, with the P)))∆ on it.

Then something's broken in the system, either a sensor (or two) or the control unit.

I had this same indicator pop up on my dash.

It did seem to help when I cleaned the sensor off but only for a brief amount of time. Eventually I took it to the dealership and under warranty (glad they talked me into buying it) they replaced the entire NAV system.

Cost was about $7,000.

Hasn't resurfaced since so hopefully that actually fixed it.
