  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The option for non adaptive cruise control.
Wat that eliminated? I can do it on my car.

1. Turn the Smart Cruise Control
System on (the cruise indicator
light will be on but the system will
not be activated).
2. Push and hold the Vehicle-to-
Vehicle Distance button for more
than 2 seconds.
3. Choose between "Smart Cruise
Control" and "Cruise Control".

The purpose of polarized glasses is to reduce or eliminate the horizontal reflected light. The HUD is based on reflected light off the windshield. Not sure how you would create a heads up display that isn't light reflected off the windshield and thus impacted by polarized glasses.
According to my Optician it can be done. The polarization should be vertical instead of horizonal. I have no idea how practical it would be

Really? I have to try that!

Have tried it multiple times in the past and has not worked. EdP, does it work on your GV70 or just other Genesis vehicles?
Worked on previous models. May have been discontinued on the GV

Problem is, cars no longer have options like years ago. You choose a package or the next model up, often to get that one feature you really want.

I really like the HUD in my car. On the G80, to get it I have to spend $13,000 more to get the 3.5 that has it. My other option is to buy a Sonata for 30K less. Guess what my next car will be. I can't justify a new G80 as I drive much less.

Would be nice to be able to customize but that would come at a cost too.
I understand and agree with that, but I don't believe it would cost the manufacturer much more on their end to include the same seats in both driver / passenger positions... I can't think of any other manufacturer who offers massaging seats to only the driver...

On another note... I do love the GV70 but wish it were a little larger... I don't know that I'd buy the GV80. I would probably steer myself towards a Kia Sorrento, Telluride of Hyundai Palisade... Like you are saying, they are also highly rated vehicles at a much cheaper price point.

Wouldn't the HUD be just as dim if you are reducing either the vertical or horizontal reflected light? One way or another the purpose of polarized lens are reducing reflected light, which is what the HUD is. Make your choice which you eliminate, either way I think you are reducing the HUD brightness with polarized lens.

The simple solution is buying a pair of sunglasses for the GV70 and those sunglasses do not have polarized lens. I have a different pair of sunglasses in each vehicle and made sure the pair in the GV70 were not polarized so I didn't have this issue. I do understand the difficulty if someone has prescription glasses that are polarized. I'm not sure what options there are in that situation as I only have experience with recreational sunglasses.

I have prescription glasses with Transitions to darken but NOT polarized. It is offered but I don't get it. I really like the Transitions as I never have to swap glasses and the change in sun is fast.

Tried it...didn't work.

Has the dealer adjusted the support stops?
I attempted to call the service department to schedule an oil change and get the hood adjusted today. I gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes.

Good thing it wasn’t the suicide hot line. But to expand on this I called my urologist… the operator asked if I can hold. I’m speechless

I would also like a software update that can adjust the surround view, so it is not cockeyed when the mirrors are turned in

HUD as available option on 2.5T Prestige
Full leather seats (get rid of mesh inserts) on 2.5T Prestige
Full digital display on 2.5T Prestige

Not having at least the HUD and Full Leather seat options available on the 2022 2.5T Prestige is a deal breaker for me and should be available options on a $55k luxury vehicle.

Separate fan control for driver/passenger.

This was their reply from my first oil change:
WE HAVE INQUIRED WITH THE MANUFACTURERS SYSTEM FOR
ANY OPENCAMPAIGNS OR RECALLS AND FOUND NO OPEN
RECALLS OR CAMPAIGNS AT THIS TIME.

So in other words the service tech checked if there was an open campaign or recall and didn't care if there was an actual issue or not. My opinion is the service department is failing you for doing the absolute bare minimum, and maybe not even that.

I didn't see this mentioned and it is a disappoint for me because I used it every day in my previous Audi - touch lock/unlock on the rear doors.

I love the concept of the Augmented Reality, however I don't think such an option is available in the US due to the NHTSA.

Definitely:
  • Wireless CarPlay
  • Integrated Camera System / Dash Cam
  • Better Dealer/Service Network
  • More mix and match color options. I love the Havana Brown interior but not sure why they limit the exterior colors with this so much.
  • Full Digital Dash optional on the Advanced Trims
I was curious about this as I can't find AR nav view on my GV70. So, this option isn't avaiable in the U.S.?
