  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just spent two weeks in West Palm Beach Florida. Didn't see a single Gennie..except for a two car display at the City Center! Only one Hyundai dealership....CLOSED What's happening ?
The two Gennies on display are pictured below. The sedan has the ugliest wheel rims I've ever seen. A $2500 add on by the dealer !! Absolutely NO interest by passersby..

I see 3-4 a day here in Fort Lauderdale

Closed dealership = no cars on street.

WPB is not a high income area, unlike Palm Beach. In WPB, people will buy less costly cars. Palm Beach, is a high income area, those who don't buy (or can't afford) the Rolls or Bently, buy Jaguars.

Here in my area of Central Florida, Genesis' are becoming a dime a dozen. Also lots of dealers in the "Greater" Orlando Area.

I'm down in the Miami area for the winter and just for the heck of it checked the inventory at dealers in Miami/Dade and Broward counties. Was amazed to see the HUGE inventory of Genesis (15 to 20 vehciles at some dealers) compared to the 3 to 5 stocked by the dealrs back home in Ct.

One man's trash is another man's treasure...or so I've heard. Maybe there's little interest from passers by due to where they are! Next to a Panera Bread? Looks like someone didn't do their marketing homework!!

I live in Fort Lauderdale/Boca area, and got my 4.6 in 12/08. I bet I didn't see 10 in the first 12 months.

In the last month, I have seen 50 (all 3.6, and 80% either black or white)

I work in Boca Raton, and now see on average about one Genesis per day, and they are not the same cars over and over...

Until recently, I almost never saw one on the road anywhere in the country except her in Florida. There is definitely a higher concentration of these cars here than in most other parts of the country.

I have only seen about 5 Genesis' since they came out. I've seen 2 coupes.

That's it.

I have not seen that many in the Tampa area either. I see even fewer 4.6L cars. It's kinda nice to own a limited production car  When the economy gets better and home values start stabilizing you will see more luxury car purchases.

This might be partially my fault, I bought my genesis at west palm beach hyundai and then I drove it to Texas and its been here ever since. :D

I still see very few in southern NJ / Philly area. I average 2/3 a month other than mine and the guy around the corner from me with one.

Agreed, those wheels on the sedan are absolutely hideous. Not that I'm looking to spend more money on anything right now, but I've yet to see a good-looking set of aftermarket wheels on the Genesis.

Wouldn't the fact that some Florida real estate is now selling for half of what it did in 2004 and an overall slowing of the state's economy be somehow related to flagging interest in expensive cars (of any make)?

Those rims are probably the reason no one is driving a Genny down there. I've seen 2 Genesis (both 3.8s) in my area.
